Harmon,

Whack a doodle Glenn Beck gets his point across because of his acting ability. Say whatg you will about the man . . . he influences millions of viewers who love his antics interposed with his rhetoric that is so on.

Since I am a major Dunie, a huge fam of the Frank Herbert and his son 'Dune' series, I liken Rush, Glen, et al to Bene Geserit 'truth sayers'. What attracted me to Rush Limbaugh was that he was broadcasting what me and most Americans think in the animated way Glenn Beck does. You not only got a serving of straight from the hip facts, but you got some belly laughs along the way. And, you know what they say, 'laughter is the best medicine'.

Harmon. Get out of liberal pity party mode and join us in the refreshing and healing waters of right wing media.

Kathy, I think if you looked at the ratings that Tony Snow (RIP) got when he was the host of Fox News Sunday, you would not say your explanation rings true. I will also point out that FNS plays on Fox affiliated stations around the country, as well as the FNC.

And yes, Fox normally gets very high ratings to which I ash so what? I don't believe for a second that translates into electoral victories - especially when they have a whack-a-doodle like Glenn Beck.

Hi Harmon,

I believe you are right.

However, Fox is competing with Sunday shows with multi-generational legacies and viewerships; I for one started watching them as a precocious 12 year old, and I'm now 45!

Loyalty and habit have a huge effect on these sorts of shows, which are a sort of household tradition for many folks.

In all other categories, as you can see from the graphs above, Fox is well ahead of the other cable networks in terms of ratings. In fact, Fox's Red Eye has more viewers at 3AM ET than CNN does at 8PM -- CNN being 4th overall now.

From what I understand, Fox News Sunday is dead last among the Sunday Chat shows. The interview of Limbaugh was an obvious play to boost his ratings. From what I understand it was a lovefest, Serious jounalism it was not.
