Editor’s Note: This is Part 1 of a 5-part series on Global Warming. It is strongly encouraged that you read the series chronologically. There are links to each subsequent part of the series at the bottom of each post.

I hope everyone watched Friday’s Glenn Beck show with Lord Christopher Monckton. For a long time he’s been one of the leading voices speaking out against Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW,) the absurd hoax that former Vice President Al Gore and so many others have been perpetrating on the world for so many years now. This current example of doom and gloom predictions of imminent global catastrophes is far more serious and dangerous than any of the others to be sure, but the first thing that everyone should know about the subject is that these false stories have been with us throughout history.

The earliest known examples typically involve primitive witch doctors and shamans telling their people that the change in climate is an indication that God was unhappy with their sinful ways. In a strange sort of way nothing’s really changed, as shown by the fact that the current AGW crowd has literally converted this madness into a religion for their followers. The leaders themselves have ulterior motives however, and many rational observers, including myself, believe that the environmental extremists of today are virtually identical to the communists of the past. When they don’t have a good crisis to exploit, they just make one up.

The single biggest problem that those of us challenging this insanity face right now is the fact that the vast majority of our most prominent spokesmen on the Right are attacking the issue in the wrong way. The basic thrust what most of them are saying is that the huge costs involved with the Cap n’ Tax scheme are far too high a price to pay for the meager amount of benefit that we’re likely to get. Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly does this all the time, and he’s not alone. Indeed, we saw a good deal of the same emphasis on tonight’s show.

As much as I respect both Beck and Monckton, I’m afraid that Friday’s show also focused more on the costs and the political consequences than the science itself, which to me, should be the first part of the story addressed. When talking to the general public — many of whom just assume the entire climate change story is valid — the first thing we must do is get them to start thinking for themselves, and that’s easy to accomplish in a few sentences, which I will go into in more detail in Part II of this series. To be fair to Monckton, of course who was brilliant and witty as usual, it was Beck’s show, therefore any criticism I may have in this regard, should properly be directed to whomever set up the script and sequence of issues on Beck’s staff.

The following is an excerpt from a letter I recently sent to some staff members at one of the bigger conservative think tanks who I’ve just begun corresponding with.

By attacking the problem the way you did today the most we can possibly achieve is to slow them down. But in so doing, we’re still granting their entire premise, that CO2 has anything more than a tiny effect on climate change. In fact the only dominant cause of climate change is the normal cycle of solar activity, all of the other factors involved are quite minor indeed. The only way that climate change should be of concern us, is if it stopped changing altogether. By attacking the issue the way you are, you’re leaving the door open for the opposition to temporarily retreat, & wait for the public to forget the details for 15 to 25 years, so they can try promoting the same scam again after having massaged the numbers once again to “prove their point”. Anyone who doubts this should read the following article from Newsweek from 1975, reporting on the “global cooling crisis” that the same corrupt “scientists” were screaming about only 35 years ago. And please note that one of the loudest voices in that recent global cooling crisis, was none other that Obama’s “science czar” John Holdren himself. This is the 4th example of this idiocy in the last hundred years. If they were wrong each of those times, why should we even LISTEN to them today?

I also highly recommend this short article about Holdren himself, which proves what was said on Friday’s show when they discussed the true goal of these charlatans: a single world government. If you read the whole piece, it will help you understand why top experts like Monckton and virtually ALL climate scientists of integrity, believe that this current AGW crisis is literally the single biggest scientific fraud in history.

So to sum up the first installment of this series, I’d like to leave you with just one exhibit. It’s a graph showing the universally accepted history of climate change in the last thousand years. It’s been so accepted for so long, by ALL climatologists, that this graph is the actual one used by the IPCC in their first report of 1990/91. To understand the true significance of the last part of the graph on the far right, you should Google the following key words, 1: “medieval warm period”, and 2: “the little ice age”

In Part II of this series, I’ll be discussing the basic science itself in more detail and I suspect that many will be shocked and amazed at what’s REALLY going on right now. Stay tuned!
