In the past, even though it was center-left in politial orientation, it provided quality and in depth coverage that few other papers in the United States even bothered to emulate. Those days of being a flag ship newspaper are long gone, due to its editorial policy, shrinkage of the paper and article length, and finally the quality of its writing. It is a paper that is not worth its $2.00. I am not happy, much less gleeful about the collapse of the New York Times. And for what purpose? I can only hope that one day I will see a true leader emerge to take this country to where it once was, and beyond -- to its potential.
