Meltdown's Attack on Fox

Democratic Party lap dog Lawrence O’Donnell, sitting in for the unmissed Keith Ogreman, threw his support behind the most naked government attack on a free press in living memory. O’Donnell invited Eric Burns, president of the leftwing smear site Media Matters to call for the “quarantine” of Fox.
The factually challenged Burns ended his segment by accusing Fox News Channel president Roger Ailes of being responsible for the Willie Horton ad which was actually a creation of Al Gore and Floyd Brown, and was mild (and factually accurate) compared to the vicious racism that Democrats routinely display in ads against Republicans (as in the infamous warning that if Republicans won the election, black churches would burn).
The smug and insufferably arrogant O’Donnell accused Fox of being “obviously an arm of the Republican Party,” apparently oblivious to Glenn Beck’s frequent attacks on the GOP. (O’Donnell was evidently too busy dreaming up smears like “Beck’s bonfire of the insanities” to watch the show.) The aplomb with which so-called liberals are willing to bring the weight of government down on one media channel that is not on board with the Chosen One’s bandwagon shows once again how inside every leftist there’s a totalitarian screaming to get out. One dissenter is always one too many for these people, which is why you can’t name an effective conservative voice that the whole robotic pack of them hasn’t tried to destroy.

I would say, that because of the ratings Fox News has, the lefties are running scared!
Again, from a mob I suspect most likely has never watched FOX, let alone know where to find it on the TV dial.
If the Democrats wish to do anything in the 2010 elections, they need to get on FOX. Otherwise they’ll be campaigning to the choir.

I’m incredulous that the above video of Eric Burns is from MSNBC – pot calling the kettle black?
This is rather frightening that our “Government” is seeking to silence it’s “opposition”

O’Donnel is a Commie or “useful idiot”. 20 years ago these cranks wouldn’t get any publicity, now Marxism has gone mainstream. It’s past time to expose their sinister, deceptive and evil agenda. Comrade O’Donnel was given his orders to attack Fox and is simply carrying them out, to not do so would earn him the fascist label and ejection from the Marxist Left. Who’s the slave now?
I remember back when I voted for democrats as well as certain other parties. I gradually became disgusted with their refusal to address factual arguments, by simply ignoring them. They still attack Conservatives with accusations of “lies,” or “distortions,” without giving specifics. They use the term “smear tactics” with complete disregard of the fact that these “tactics” utilize genuine quotes and personal histories of the ones being “attacked.
The worst part is the historic, democrat use of last minute lies in campaigning. Which is beginning to backfire on them. The public is no longer naive enough to accept liberal lies, liberally applied…hence the soaring ratings of Fox.
MSNBC, et al, would trade in a heartbeat their right of “free speech” for the silencing of Fox News, so that they could divy up its audience.
Silencing the medias is the second commandment of the socialist agenda. It is a matter of time til they put some members of the press in jail…. just wait.
Regarding Meltdown’s Attack on Fox
You idiots if you think were going against Fox News your crazy. If it wasn’t for Fox News all Americans would not have learned about this corrupt administration, and all they were doing behind close doors. So I have a few words for all you jerks that think your going to put Fox News out of business, GO TO HELL!
Fox News thank God for Fox News, spread the word people. To get good honest news watch Fox News, they have our backs.
Here’s what’s funny. They could shut down fox and Hannity, Beck, Levin, Limbaugh and the rest would still have an outlet. They were radio people long before they were tv people. And if, by some chance, the radio got shut down, they also have internet sites, and even China knows how impossible it is to shut down the net.
I watch Fox News every night because…………..they are entertaining and have different points of view. MSNBC, CBS and “the others” are just to critical all the time. Keep up the great media coverage Fox.
White House attacks free speech…obama’s czar Muck Lloyd defends Chavez’s takeover of the media..They won’t get away with it in America,
they will be soundly defeated, they should tried and hung. Jailed is not good enough..Venezula let Chavez out of jail and looked what happened to a free people.

Keep him and Olberdoodle right out front on prime time. That should be enough to drive any sane person from there ranks. Toss in thrill in his leg Mathews as well.
These people are not real Americans. What they say and what they propose are un-American AND unconstitutional. Not that liberal lefties give much shrift to those concepts.

O’Donell and the Dolbermann, along with the Marxist-Socialist-Nazi-Bolshevik-Communist ( aka MSNBC ) Network is the purest form of a gov’t propaganda arm. Their one purpose is so obvious that it’s an insult to the brain of anyone who watches it. What’s pathetic and tragic is how the useful idiots who work for that tyranny-thirsty outfit might actually believe what the socialist messiah actually says. The sub-human baseline of intellect spewing from their venom pits is breathtakingly. Hopefully, someday soon they will be so publically humiliated they’ll need to hide in a homemade bunker, like their buddy Saddam.
These people really have plans for us. We can’t let them carry them out. I think Republicans had better start using all the tools in their Constitutional toolbox. In addition to the Islamic seditionists, the Mexican mob that wants to take back “northern Mexico” and the Obamanation of a government we have it coming from all sides. We need Fox to watch our back.

I saw David Brock speak on my campus after his first book. Made quite an impression. I view his epiphany like a chicken realizing the absurdity of working for Colonel Sanders. WALKING EAGLE …(BHO)
President BARACK OBAMA was invited to address a major gathering of the American Indian Nation two weeks ago in upstate New York.
He spoke for almost an hour on HIS future plans for increasing every Native American’s present standard of living, since he has now become the President.
He referred to his career as a Senator, how he had signed
‘YES’ for every Indian issue that came to his desk for approval.
Although President Obama was vague on the details of his plan, he seemed most enthusiastic about his future ideas for helping his ‘red sisters and brothers’.
At the conclusion of his speech, the Tribes presented Obama with a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name – “Walking Eagle”.
The proud President then departed in his motorcade, waving to the crowds.
A news reporter later inquired to the group of chiefs of how they came to select the new name they had given to the President.
They explained that “Walking Eagle” is the name given to a bird so full of sh_ _ it can no longer fly.
Its amazing how the left can be so afraid of one network. One right leaning network vs ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, PBS, Headline News, almost all the remaining newspapers, TIME and NEWSWEEK.
Fox must be doing something right
To the Democrats in Congress who don’t quite get it: I want to offer a personal pledge. I and a lot of other people have every intention of removing you from Congress in the next election if you stand in the way of health care legislation that the majority of the American people want. That is not a hollow or idle threat. We will come to your district and we will work against you, first in the primary and, if we have to, in the general election. We do not want the “Public Option(single payer)”…..period! Rest assured, we are all watching how you vote now and in the future.
Oh Nancy….you socialist ! In the coming year you will be out of a job as Speaker. Enjoy!
Nancy Pelosi was touring the countryside in a chauffeur-driven car. Suddenly, a cow jumps out into the road, they hit it full on, and the car comes to a stop. Nancy, in her usual charming manner, says to the chauffeur:
‘You get out and check – you were driving.’
The chauffeur gets out, checks, and reports that the animal is dead
but it was old.
‘You were driving; go and tell the farmer,’ says Nancy .
Two hours later, the chauffeur returns totally plastered, hair ruffled
with a big grin on his face.
‘My God, what happened to you?’, asks Nancy.
The chauffeur replies: ‘When I got there, the farmer opened
his best bottle of malt whisky, the wife gave me a slap-up meal
and the daughter made love to me.’
‘What on earth did you say?’ asks Nancy.
‘I just knocked on the door and when it was answered, I said to them:
‘I’m Nancy Pelosi’s chauffeur, and I’ve just killed the old cow.’
While the Obama Socialist machine is attacking Fox News they are defunding the Democracy movement in Iran. We are now moving from socialism in the United States to Marxism it would seem.
Obama Cuts Pro-Democracy Funds for Iran
Wednesday, October 14, 2009 7:34 PM
By: Kenneth R. Timmerman Article Font Size
The Obama administration has cut funding for pro-democracy and human rights programs in Iran, reversing years of efforts during the Bush administration to help develop a civil society, congressional sources told Newsmax this week.
The move is apparently intended to please Iran’s rulers after they criticized President Obama and the State Department for allegedly seeking to fund a “velvet revolution†during the June presidential elections in Iran.
“It sounds like the Iranians complained in Geneva and we acceded to their demands,†a former senior government official familiar with the pro-democracy programs told Newsmax.
Why doesn’t the socialist Obama Nation look at federal workers and their wages and pay scales before turning up the heat on the private sector. Why? Votes! Same work done by Federal workers is done by half the cost of the private sector in wages.

Reports are coming in that Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Barack Hussein Obama are going to employ devious legislative shenanigans in an attempt to sneak ObamaCare past the American people… they’re going to try to pass it by stealth… before anyone is any the wiser.
First, it became clear that Barack Obama and leftists in Congress didn’t want you to know what’s in ObamaCare, and they were willing to hide all the sordid details from you.
Then we found out that Obama and the leftists in Congress tried to muzzle, and intimidate, those who dared to speak out against ObamaCare.
And now we’re finding out that Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama are secretly scheming behind closed doors to sneak ObamaCare past the American people in the dark-of-night.
Yes, it would appear that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is considering some legislative shenanigans to sneak ObamaCare out of the Senate and get ObamaCare on Barack Obama’s desk.
Reports are now coming out that Reid may try to make ObamaCare an amendment to a totally unrelated Senate Bill that can then be passed by both Houses of Congress quickly… before anyone is any the wiser.
According to CNSNews.com:
“A senior aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told CNSNews.com that it is ‘likely’ that Reid will use H.R. 1586—a bill passed by the House in March to impose a 90-percent tax on bonuses paid to employees of certain bailed-out financial institutions—as a ’shell’ for enacting the final version of the Senate’s health care bill, which Reid is responsible for crafting.”
Of course, such disgraceful actions shouldn’t shock us. Remember what happened when Senator Jim Bunning offered an amendment that would have required that the language of the bill be made available to the American people 72 hours prior to a vote?
Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee squashed it.
I find it interesting that so few people are asking a crucial question of the bunch in Washington…If this health care plan is so wonderful for all of us, why have all of you rejected it for yourselves??? WHY DID YOU EXEMPT YOURSELVES FROM IT???
I believe this is the biggest and most telling item of this whole charade. I have never heard Washington and its Messiah do anything but DODGE that question.
United Solialist States of America and it is coming right before our eyes. Americans better wake up real quick or it will be gone.

What does that mean?
I will look into it

First wea are not a democracy our founders went to great lengths to ensure that we are not. We are a constiutional republic. A nation of laws. I agree we are in a life and death struggle with two murderous cults one Islam and the other the left wing democraps.
You are correct. Regardless of semantics, however, the government was established to “govern by the consent of the governed.” We now see, in Washington as well as some state capitols, a snowballing attitude of “WE know best and WE don’t need any advice from the peons who merely pay the bills.”
How else could the elites of both houses, led by THE ONE elite, insist that we the public have no need, *let alone right*, to know what they are passing? I still cannot understand why every citizen is not filling the streets alongside the “tea parties.”
This republic is in mortal danger!!!
correcting you–not democraps but demonrats
My analysis of Media Matters cannot be characterized as “knee jerk” given the fact that I’ve been a regular reader of Media Matters since it launched.
I don’t know if this is even worth two cents but the student was born in July 31, 1971 and he stated that the event with Kevin Jennings occurred in 1988….that means he was 17 and not 16. Helps Kevin or throws more suspicion I don’t know. But it would be nice to know what/when Kevin stated about this councilling case. Did Kevin apologize or applaud the relationship at 15 or 16 in any of his previous writings or talks?? sorry, I have not followed this from the beginning.
Look at me. I have a handy interwebs link defending mediamatters citing a study done by themselves! How nice.
I watch FAUX regularly to get a head start on Republican talking points. It really streamlines my path to understanding by knowing what the echo chamber will run with. Even when there’d be a position om FAUX that was defensible or actually fact based, I was amazed how not unlike a tabloid they were with frequent inclusion of “weasel words” – A weasel word/phrase that is used extensively on Fox News is “some people say”. Introducing an idea with this phrase lets them say anything they want, with no attribution or justification. see: http://rationalwiki.com/wiki/Weasel_words
GWB crapped all over the Constitution and your side was silent. Also, you were not given Constitutional powers to define who is suitably “American.”
(thank goodness!)
I very much like that quote and it is completely accurate. We descended from those ancestors (both as individuals and as a species) displaying the most aggressive and exploitive traits to overcome the compettition (particularly when dwindling resources increased survival pressures). It’s in our DNA.
As my friend Bernie the Attorney put it, “Nice guys finish last – by design”
Really since the beginning? You truly have grit I could have used you as a squad leader.
Lancie
I am sure you get your news from The New York Slimes, I canceled my subscription when mt bird and that is fact. I am also sure you sit getting a thrill up you leg while you watch that stalwart5 jurno Chrissy Mathews. Could it be that Olberdouch is your source and you cap it off with a healthy dose of Caty Curad. Yep I could write a book about you and I cannot type my punctuation is crap but so are most of your comments. I hope you will take this in the spirit that it is given.
Lance,
I’m curious…how is Fox News as you describe them above any different than any other news outlet?
Julie
Problem with calling them Faux new is that unlike The New York Times ( Jason Blair), CNN ( nerve gas in Viet Nam), ABC (Food Lion), NBC (exploding Pintos), and CBS (national guard memos), Fox has not had a scandal where they made things up.
That should have read my bird died
As you were the one who urged others that the proper response was to ignore me, why am I not surprised that you are unable to follow your own counsel? Could it be that your own hypocrisy does not even register with you?
As far as military service goes, I considered it (became draft age in ‘75) but took seriously the commitment required. I did not feel I could trust my government not to command me to kill people that did not deserve killing. I consider the taking of a human life an issue considerable importance.
My friend’s son was with Marines 1/5 for the fall of Baghdad. After his return, the first words out of his mouth when I asked him about his experiences there were, “We killed people for no reason” and proceeded to tell me about various instances where women and children were cut to pieces with small arms and machine gun fire because of the ROE’s in place. At his age, Mr. Swindle would be a prime candidate for the service (especially considering that conservatives have deemed this a battle for the survival of the Republic; a clash of civilizations. Makes me wonder why he chose to be “in the rear with the gear.” I guess, much like Dick Cheney, he has “other priorities.”
Lance
What exactly has Obama changed? We are at War. Check out what Woodrow Wilson and FDR did. Now I would prosecute if I could GWB for failing to secure our border. But he gets an A for no more direct attacks on this country. By the way what did you do in the War Daddy?
Lance said:
“GWB crapped all over the Constitution and your side was silent. Also, you were not given Constitutional powers to define who is suitably “American.â€
1. GWB did what every President has and will continue to do – follow the advice of their legal counsel…tested by the courts, determined to be or not to be constitutional and continued or stopped.
2. Tramky was given constitution powers to define (in his statements) who is suitably American – it’s called Freedom of Speech. gees
Julie
1 ex….. Americans stand up for the Original intent of the US Constitution….none of this living and breathing Constitution crap. Ex…imminent domain cases.— explained as judicial activist… roe vs wade… citing international law etc….
Lance
Bernie lied I am a nice guy and never finished last in my life.
Lance
Do not take this personally but your problem is obvious.
You have been absolutely brain washed.
It means he was prescient regarding what the democrats and BO are trying to do outside the Constitution, even as we speak/type.
Lance
You are right that was on another thread but you give sound advice in this case. As some that spent almost two years in a war as an an 11 B I would caution you not to put to much faith in the mans remarks. I was never ordered to fire on innocent women and children nor would I have complied if ordered to. There is a code of conduct. Sounds like bull to me he violated the UCMJ and the code of conduct if what he said is true I doubt it could have been covered up. Much like the Haditha Marines where all I believe have been exonnerated. But I will follow your advise on this thread.
While it is certainly to a matter of degree compared to the other news outlets, at FOX Noise there is seemingly nothing that is not filtered through their agenda, facts be damned. The power of the echo chamber to shape perception is immense. Once that perception has been established, correct or not, it is most difficult to change.
“a lie can be halfway around the world before truth gets its pants onâ€.
People tend to process information in a fashion that conforms to their beliefs. Getting there first, even with false data, means that the person must expend extra energy to dislodge and replace it with accurate info as it has already taken root. Then it becomes a badge of honor to retain a false perception even in the face of accurate information. This provides the needed ego protection as no one wants to think they backed the wrong horse. When they have the majority (even when wrong), they appeal to populism. When they don’t, they explain how only they are aware enough to see the truth.
I think FOX and its viewers occupy an ever interchangeable host/parasite role whereby they continually feed upon each other.
They give both sides.
Your saying all news agencies give both sides of a story? The only one I see do that is Fox News. There not saying just believe them, but for us to make up our own minds after hearing both sides. The others only give information on what Obama the holy one is doing, and what the good old Democrats say. One sided, so without Fox News how does someone make a good educated choice? You must hear both sides. So rather than turn channel to channel, if you just watch Fox you get both sides all the time.
There were countless reports of cars approaching checkpoints at speed that were fired upon. Adam (my friend’s son) fired upon such vehicles on numerous occasions, with women and children as casualties (dead and wounded). He tended to children screaming in terror and agony next to their dead mothers. It did noot matter if there were reasons that the people might be rapidly driving in the direction of the checkpoint, they were told to “light it up.”
I do not know if Adam was involved in any action where a free-fire zone was declared but that also created situations were innocent civilians would be considered “legitimate” targets based on their location alone; any extenuating circumstances as to why they might be there notwithstanding (difficulty of travel, no place else to go, fear their meager homes and belongings woould be at risk, even their being forcebly prevented from leaving the area).
see: http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2005/11/11/their-terrorism-and-ours/ What strikes me about the Italian video occurs in an interview with two American soldiers – witnesses to this horror – in which one of them describes his orders to kill “anything that moves†in the Fallujah free-fire zone.
I know Adam’s integrity and believe him when he said he saw (and in some cases was responsible for) the deaths of many innocent people. I am thankful he is well adjusted and resilient but still know he saw many horrific sights. Other service personnel have said the same thing – see: http://www.ivaw.org/wintersoldier – for first person accounts.
The Germans of WWII used the legal system and their own counselors and courts to give the stamp of approval for some of their most egregious actions (Nuremberg Laws). Would you sit still for the destruction of the 2nd Amendment even if WH counsel and appeals courts declared it “legal”?
And yes, within the ellipses (in his own mind), he is “free” to declare himself Napoleon or Jesus if it floats his boat but it will still have the same relation to reality.
JT
Obama and his democrap pals are trying to shut down the first amendment with the so called fairness doctrine when they have every news TV network in the country in there pocket except one. They are attempting to get neighbors to rat out each other and kids to rat out there parents if they do not tow the party line. Bush was defending the country from the most blood thirsty cult that has ever existed. He brought Federal law up to date to cover throw away cell phones. He did nothing to change the parameters to obtain a search warrant or to tap you still have to go before a judge and show probable cause now we do not have to go back to the judge to get a warrant for every phone the individual uses it you get the warrant for the individual which is the way it should have been from zero. Some of these thugs use dozens of phones. This guy is just mad that his death cult buddies no longer have it so easy.
Lance,
“at FOX Noise there is seemingly nothing that is not filtered through their agenda, facts be damned”
Could it be that it’s actually your filter/bias in evaluating the quality and content of what’s in a Fox news program and not their agenda?
Julie
You sound like a Democrat. Glenn Beck has a phone on his program for the White House to call if they make a mistake or say something that is not true. White House does not call.
Fox News give the truth on both sides. Thank God for Fox News.
Right on.. and don’t let the door kick you in the A__!
Tater
I think that Lance is just angry. I do not even know if he is an American. His comment about Mr. Swindle being in the rear with the gear is pathetic. He cannot compete with him intellectually. I believe Lance likes being in the rear but by no means in a military fashion and that is probably the source of his anger. Or his blow dryer burned up.
While it’s ‘possible’, Julie, it’s not the case. As I said, perusing the various opposition outlets is a great time saver. They make a statement that they continue to repeat and then the fact checking comes in. A good example is the false meme that Al Gore said he invented the internet. What he did was help facilitate its emergence as the entity it is today (see the detailed peice: AL Gore and the Creation of the Internet by Richard Wiggins – http://outreach.lib.uic.edu/www/issues/issue5_10/wiggins/index.html ). FOX wopuld never let facts get in the way of exploitation of ignorance for political gain. Particularly worth noting is how the author observes how such mischaracterization hurts our nation because it deprives its citizens of facts needed to make informed choices. That is the cancer that is FOX, and their parrot army.
Furthermore, I have seen repeated instances of repeating claims that had already been shown to be false, was acknowledged as false, and trotted back out at a later date. It’s bad enough to have to correct misinformation, but to keep rebutting it whenever it resurfaces, just shows how it is nothing more than a tactic, meant to waste time, energy and resources. The followers of FOX type propaganda are so undiscerniong, that there are virtually no consequences for the false memes. In fact, it energizes the base who get to pretend that they are the offended party.
Again; straight out of “Mein Kampf.” Blame the other side of the worst sort of abuses and behaviors to deflect attentin at your own commission of the same. Don’t you remember that the brownshirts gained power by accusing the communist party members of being violent thugs? Maybe you are one of those who don’t belive Hitler’s brownshirts were violent thugs. The Reichstag fire was another case of misdirection via false-flag. Violent reprisals took place against communist activists for a crime historians assign to Nazi party members.
I also recall the tremendous belly laughs I got hearing Hannity and O’Reilly whine about the lack of civility in political discourse and how outtraged they were about the namecalling. O’reilly went onm to make some statement about how judiciously he used the term “pinhead.” It was either the Daily Show or Media Matters that showed just how “liberally” he threw that term around.
The cataloging of GOP hypocrisy via the rule of IOKIYAR is extremely lengthy. Newt, Livingston, Craig and Ensign to name a few scolded Bill Clinton for infidelity and argued the act itself was enough cause to remove him from office. Ensign was particularly adamant for Clinton to step down but declares his situation as different.
If FAUX is about keeping politicians honest, then you’d think they’d occasionally apply the standards evenhandedly. It’s one of the reasons that the younger, educated voters get a good deal of their information from the Daily Show. Comdey writers gather more evidence of outright contradiction lying and hypocrisy than any so-called legitimate news org, and they shine the light in all directions. Jon Stewart asked excellent follow-up questions to blowhards and spin doctors such as Bill Kristol, John Bolton, Bill O’Reilly, and a host of others. He was spot on when he took CNN’s Crossfire program for being little more than a dog and pony show.
The one thing a true believer cannot accept, is the notion that their views are not from critical thinking and honest examination of the issues, but rather from the internalized gatekeeping a true believer necessarily performs.
David’s Swindle and Horowitz (as well as others here) talk about their former leftist views. Yet they have no further insight, just another flavor to hawk as superior….because they KNWO, because they used to think another flavor was tops.
But Swindle and Horowitz pale in comparison to the likes of a John Cole (balloon-juice.com) who bailed on the Republicans and argues persuasively on any issue he tackles. He was smart when he felt conservatism held more promise for guiding American politics, and his conversion retains that same ability to use *fact-based* analysis to compare actions and agendas. He is fair, funny, reasonable, and personable.
Any of you are welcome to puddle jump over to a bigger pond and show them your scary moves. Swemson call pull out his “putz” cannon and Jack Hampton can attempt to crack wise. I’m guessing that they rarely leave their group think safe harbor. I often wind up in sites new to me from commenting on a thread that was google alerted to me by topic. I think here was Dr. Finkelstein’s name in a Jimmy Carter hatchet job.
The common thread of true believer sites is the instinct to circle the wagons. The howler monkey comparison is quite apt as you can almost see the veins in the temples start to swell as the call for ouster of the offending party to preserve the peace (and maintain the blinders) grows. Even David S. gets a little testy when someone won’t lay down no matter how stridently he declares victory.
JT
A very fine observation. You know for years I watched CBS, NBC, CNN, often yelling at the screen then along came FOX whose basic reporters offered some balance. I am not referring to the comentary people but the reporters.
No Scandal for Fox, there good. They tell both sides, all of the truth, and they cover our backs. White House is upset because Fox News tells us the truth, which Obama on his campaign promised he would do. Now there discussing our Health Protection behind close doors. Who the hell do they think they are. Well come this election most of them will know who we are. This is our lives there making decisions on, who gave them the right to make those decision for us behind close doors.
With something this big, we Americans should have a chance to Read the Finished Bill and have a chance to Vote on it. They try to do sneaky add-on’s behind our backs. god I can’t want to get them out of office.
Doesn’t the French government have the final say in who can own or open a news media. Obama state news sounds like they want to be part of the family.
Idiotic american citizens who are too lazy, fat, apathetic…a little chasing around the dark jungles of…say Asia, Africa or South America by socialist/communist stooges and they will definitely tone up, be quick on their feet and love the U.S Constitution, freedom, and hate socialism/communism. Maybe all USA hating americans should trade places with socialist/communist oppressed folks.
BO and demonrats has no constitutional power for many of their wishes so they cram it overnight without letting anyone take a peak.
I don’t remember David Brock but hOward stern…. totally agree…brain wash.
I have to respond, “HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA” The Walking Eagle has landed.
Lance:
Re Al Gore and the internet:
– I have never heard, nor can I find any reference this on any Fox News ‘broadcast’. There are several references to it on other programming on Fox i.e. Hannity (who I believe and have posted here previously exagerates the truth -then “hammers” it and in my opinion diminishes his effectiveness when doing so. That tactic turns me off).
So what is the the truth? Al Gore said (when a US Senator) “I took the initiative in creating the internet”. He did not. He sponsored the 1988 national High-performance computer act after meeting with several “computer nerds” mostly from UCLA. In the same interview he claimed to have taken the initiative for growth in many other areas. These self-inflating statements are simply that – self inflating (and open to criticism). He no more took the initiative in creating the internet than any other senator took the initiative in eradicating smallpox, developing evidence based medicine, etc.
But here’s the kicker. Every news outlet and broadcast network did at the time & continues to reference “Al gore invented the internet”, yet you only have concern that the pundits on Fox News do it – that is bias.
Since you easily show your bias, there really is no point in countering your other claims.

“While it’s ‘possible’, Julie, it’s not the case”.
Self diagnosis? That’s as stupid as saying you’re unbiased. You clearly buy into the left’s ideology.
What books by David Horowitz have you read in order to form your assertions about him? Because if you haven’t read “Radical Son” or “Destructive Generation” or “Uncivil Wars” or “Left Illusions” or the “Politics of Bad Faith” then you have no basis for your conclusions.
Lance asked:
“Would you sit still for the destruction of the 2nd Amendment even if WH counsel and appeals courts declared it “legalâ€?”
No, that’s why I and millions of other discerning and awakened Americans are so zealous to destroy the policies of this current administration before he destroys our country.

This is with out doubt my last response to you. I find you with out honor and the master of the half truth or willfully ignorant. I believe everyone has seen film of our troops firing at cars speeding at check points that refused to slow down and stop. This was self defense as you well know. Any time the media could get there hands on such film or a story they were front page with it. It was not a daily event. You also have to know that some of these people did it intentionally to get the exact result they got. We also had soldiers in Somalia that were forced to fire at women and children because those cowards hid behind them as well. Many Americans have died because they did not fire under similar circumstances. I will assure you these soldiers or marines did not have to be told to fire or light it up which was a term we used even in Vietnam because that would be a natural self defensive instinct after several of them were killed by car bombs approaching check points.
As far as Fallujah was concerned non combatants were warned to leave if they remained by choice then it was there responsibility. If they were forced to stay I regret that but I doubt that very many were really forced to stay regardless the murderers had a strangle hold on the town and had to be removed. They could have been removed the old way as was done in WWII by carpet bombing but we chose to do it in a way that would kill fewer people but put our young men at much greater risk. Yes horrible things happen in War we have had Soldiers and Marines put on trial for perceived wrongs and most have been acquitted. We have also had real atrocities such as William Kelley who was put on trial and punished. I wonder how many of there own Al Qaeda put on trial. The fact remains that we have executed this war with fewer civilian collateral deaths than any war previously fought by comparison and sometimes at the expense of a soldier’s life. I can tell you have never pulled a trigger on anyone in your life and that’s good however you make it sound as though your friend’s son killed dozens every day sorry but that is just not the way it is. It is difficult to determine who is innocent and there intent. People driving at break neck speed in that situation were more than likely aware that the check point was there. It just seems that you hate this country and find nothing good or noble about it in its actions to defend our self. You are typical of the left wing which is disgusting. Your reference of Winter Soldier is telling as well John Kerry had his version and most of the people he had statements from never even served. His cofounder was uncovered as a liar that never saw a day of combat. But I am sure you believe every word the liar put down. I doubt this winter soldier group is much different and I would not waste my time. No sane person wants War most certainly those that bare the burden of the battle. Will Rogers once said “I never met a man I didn’t like†well he never met you. Now you will have the last word.

Another outstanding response. Do not forget that Love story was about him and Tripper as well and oh Yea, He invented global warming.
The Wiggins piece explains what you are missing. It also takes the other media outlets to task (as do I). FOX is glad to comingle its news wing with its issues/opinion programs as its typical viewer is hardly discerning enough to know the difference.

THERE THEY WENT AGAIN! When Gore endorsed Dean, pundits told an old tale. Gore said he invented the Internet:
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2003
THERE THEY WENT AGAIN: At first, when it happened, we blamed it on Fox. Tuesday morning, we were watching (and taping) Fox & Friends, the most hideous TV “news†program ever broadcast.
We wanted to see how the “friends†would react to Al Gore’s impending endorsement of Dean—and sure enough, we weren’t disappointed. Instantly, the friends played the “poor Joe Lieberman boo hoo hoo†card; by that night, it was Requisite Spin, required of all Fox performers (see THE DAILY HOWLER, 12/10/03, to revisit Susan Estrich’s reading). But then, as the Friends crew began to sign off, we saw what we thought was a Fox News original. As the gang began taking its leave, clowning co-host Steve Doocy said this:
DOOCY (12/9/03): You know, it’s interesting, Al Gore, the man who once took credit for inventing the Internet—
For the record, Doocy’s statement was so stupid that a bit of Fox history occurred: One of his co-hosts, E. D. Hill, interrupted and said he was wack! “That’s a misnomer†(sic), she said—but Doocy, a half-wit, just kept on going. The fatuous co-host is paid large sums to peddle his well-scripted brand of buffoonism. So never mind what Hill had said. Doocy reprised his performance:
DOOCY: No, he took credit once for inventing the Internet, has thrown his weight behind this man who is using it to raise millions of dollars!

The following text appears on the book jacket flaps.
The question of whose interests the media protects—and how—has achieved holy-grail-like significance. Is media bias keeping us from getting the whole story? If so, who is at fault? Is it the liberals who are purported to be running the newsrooms, television and radio stations of this country, duping an unsuspecting public into mistaking their party line for news? Or is it the conservatives who have identified media bias as a reliably inflammatory rallying cry around which to consolidate their political base as they cynically “work the refs?†The media has become so pervasive in our lives that regardless of exactly where on the ideological fence you sit, the question of media bias has become all but unavoidable.
Most of the criticism (and anger) has so far emanated from the political Right, which has offered us the rather unconvincing argument that a systematic Left bias is destroying the quality of news and debate in our country today. Journalist and historian Eric Alterman begs to differ.
What Liberal Media? confronts the question of liberal bias and, in so doing, provides a sharp and utterly convincing assessment of the realities of political bias in the news. In distinct contrast to the conclusions reached by Ann Coulter, Bernard Goldberg, Sean Hannity, and Bill O’Reilly, Alterman finds the media to be, on the whole, far more conservative than liberal, though it is possible to find evidence for both views. The fact that conservatives howl so much louder and more effectively than liberals is one significant reason that big media is always on its guard for “liberal†bias but gives conservative bias a free pass.
After reading What Liberal Media? you will understand that the real news story of recent years is not whether this newspaper, or that news anchor, is biased but rather to what extent the entire news industry is organized to communicate conservative views and push our politics to the right—regardless of how “liberal†any given reporter may be.
Eric Alterman currently writes the “The Liberal Media†column for The Nation and the “Altercation†web log (www.altercation.msnbc.com) for MSNBC.com. In recent years, he has been a contributing editor to, or columnist for Worth, Rolling Stone, Elle, Mother Jones, World Policy Journal, and The Sunday Express (London). His Sound and Fury: The Making of the Punditocracy (1992/2000), won the 1992 George Orwell Award and his It Ain’t No Sin To Be Glad You’re Alive: The Promise of Bruce Springsteen (1999), won the 1999 Stephen Crane Literary Award. He is also the author of Who Speaks for America? Why Democracy Matters in Foreign Policy (1998), and When Presidents Lie: Deception and Its Consequences, which is forthcoming. A senior fellow of the World Policy Institute at New School University, and an affiliated faculty member in the magazine journalism program at New York University, Alterman received his B.A. in History and Government from Cornell, his M.A. in International Relations from Yale, and his Ph.D. in U.S. History from Stanford. He was born in Queens, New York and lives with his family in Manhattan. He can be reached online at http://www.whatliberalmedia.com.
Only a liberal would be dumb enough to title a book, What Liberal Media? Listen to just about anyone and the answer is obvious: “What are you, stupid? Just pick up a newspaper or turn on your TV.†Should that fail to convince, bemusement can turn to anger, or at best, pity, as in “There are none so blind as those who will not see.†America’s argument about media bias features just two points of view. The right argues that the media is biased toward leftists. The other side responds, to quote David Broder, “dean†of the Washington press corps, “There just isn’t enough ideology in the average reporter to fill a thimble.†The idea that the media might, for reasons of ownership, economics, class or outside pressure, actually be more sympathetic to conservative causes than to liberal ones is widely considered to be simply beyond the pale.

Democrats and think we are all joking. We will forget and all will be back to normal for them. We also must watch Stowe in Maine, and how she votes when it matters. What we all should do is write to every Democrat or call there office and make our concern known and what will happen if they do not listen.
I have several issues with this Administration
1- Advantra Freedom that will be going away was the best thing for Seniors
2- Cutting Medicare or Seniors what so ever
3- Why can’t the House and Senate take a good size pay cut to add there
money to Medicare for Seniors, why are there Salaries so big, we could do
better.
4- No close door negotiating. Everything out in the open put on C-Span so all
Americans can watch and know what OUR Government is doing.
5- Absolutely no Government one pay option
6- A term limit to the number of terms Senators can hold (Same as a President)
7- This President to get rid of all his CZARS until they are Vetted by Congress,
put on C-Span
8- This President show his Long Form Birth Certificate. If theres nothing wrong
then why not? Must be Verified. WHY NOT?
But we must keep the pressure on. We must not forget. This is the time to
remember, not something good they would do around election time. That would
only be done to get re-elected. This is the time that counts. Election on 2010 is vital for America and our Seniors.
Let me know how I can help, I write articles and send them out to all newspapers across the country now, and I do call the Senators, but I’m only one. Lets make sure all of us do the same.
“….. stand in the way of health care legislation that the majority of the American people want.”
I have ascertained, based upon your posts, that you forgot a “do not” after people and before want?
I hope we can vote enough out that it will make a difference.
“I still cannot understand why every citizen is not filling the streets alongside the “tea parties.—
– “When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that justifies it.”
Frederic Bastiat
Can’t argue with that explanation.
Asserting things out of ignorance is one thing. Repeatedly promoting lies is another.

No, Al didn’t claim that he and Tipper were the inspiration for “Love Story”
The incorrect information being circulated: “Around midnight, after a three-city tour of Texas last month, the Vice President came wandering back to the press compartment of Air Force Two. Sliding in behind a table with the two reporters covering him that day, he picked slices of fruit from their plates and spent two hours swapping opinions about movies and telling stories about old chums like Erich Segal, who, Gore said, used Al and Tipper as models for the uptight preppy and his free-spirited girlfriend in Love Story; and Gore’s Harvard roommate Tommy Lee Jones, who played the roommate of the Gore-like character in the movie version of Segal’s book.” (Time, 12/15/97)
“Vice President Al Gore acknowledged Sunday a ‘miscommunication’ on his part in leading reporters to believe he and his wife were the model for the 1970s romance novel ‘Love Story’.”
“The author, Erich Segal, told The New York Times he was ‘befuddled’ by the comments in the first place. He said he called Gore, and the vice president said it was a misunderstanding.”
(Sources: The Des Moines Register, 12/15/97; Gore concedes ‘miscommunication’ about ‘Love Story’ role)
Hold it. The real information: An article the Tennessean quoted Erich Segal, the author of “Love Story” incorrectly. The Tennessean quoted Segal as saying that “Love Story” was based on both the Gores. Segal claims that he was misquoted in that article, and explained in the 12/14/97 issue of the New York Times, that the male lead, Oliver Barrett IV, was modeled after Gore and Gore’s Harvard roommate, actor Tommy Lee Jones.
When Gore made the comment about “Love Story”, he stated that, “Segal had told some reporters in Tennessee that it was based on him and Tipper.” (also from the 12/14/97 NY Times piece). Notice the actual quote is that he heard that Segal had told people that he and Tipper were the inspiration for “Love Story.” And yes, Tennessean did report that, but Segal had been misquoted. So, in summary, a reporter misquoted Segal, and Gore mentioned the article where Segal had been misquoted.
The author who compiled these also compiled quite a few from Gore that *were* accurate. Again, I have no problem with factual accounting, whether or not I’m sad, sorry, or embarrassed that Gore made these gaffes. ( see: http://www.gargaro.com/algore.html )

Appreciate the reply. Wonder if it will go through. I know of another which didn’t.
I just believe it should be a given that if Washington passes a law…it means them too.
