NewsReal’s bloggers have had a variety of points to make in reaction to the surprise news of President Barack Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize win:

  • Ben Johnson had the opening post on the subject here, shortly after the news broke.
  • Mark J. Koenig had a witty 2 sentence summary here.
  • David Horowitz weighed in here in a post appropriately titled Nobel Puzzle.
  • John Perazzo had a two part series in which he demonstrated how the Peace Prize has become the Leftist Prize.
  • Joseph Klein surveyed what foreign policy “accomplishments” might have merited Obama’s victory.
  • I listed the nominees who lost to Obama here.

One can be sure that there will be more to come…

just got an email from the O. he said he doesn’t believe the peaceful goals will be reached during his presidency or his lifetime but the award isn’t about actually doing things and his doesn’t deserve to be included with other recipients but he’s still gonna take it.

    Have a read:

“This morning, Michelle and I awoke to some surprising and humbling news. At 6 a.m., we received word that I’d been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009.

To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who’ve been honored by this prize — men and women who’ve inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace.

But I also know that throughout history the Nobel Peace Prize has not just been used to honor specific achievement; it’s also been used as a means to give momentum to a set of causes.

That is why I’ve said that I will accept this award as a call to action, a call for all nations and all peoples to confront the common challenges of the 21st century. These challenges won’t all be met during my presidency, or even my lifetime. But I know these challenges can be met so long as it’s recognized that they will not be met by one person or one nation alone.

This award — and the call to action that comes with it — does not belong simply to me or my administration; it belongs to all people around the world who have fought for justice and for peace. And most of all, it belongs to you, the men and women of America, who have dared to hope and have worked so hard to make our world a little better.

So today we humbly recommit to the important work that we’ve begun together. I’m grateful that you’ve stood with me thus far, and I’m honored to continue our vital work in the years to come.

    Thank you,

    President Barack Obama ”

I liked Liz Cheney’s idea- send a representative from our military to accept the prize.

So very many people, including me believe he hasn’t brought peace..He has brought about anger and is a very arrogant young man who doesn’t really know how to be a president..and he certainly isn’t bringing peace but doing the opposite. We do’nt hate the man and it has nothing to do with racisim..This is how they attack everyone who doesn’t agree with everything. It’s not racism because he’s black..We were ex’ecting him to bring all the promises and not to be a liar. He’s bringing only fear for our country. He seems to care more about the enemys than our own America for which he constantly apologizes..We see him as the worse president ever that America has had..We wish people could open their eyes and see where he’s leading us..right into Communism.

There you have it the road map for winning the Nobody Grease Prize! Just go around the world sucking up to the terrorist enablers, murderers, con-artists, anti-Semites, tyrants, and other assorted international thugs and you too can be on the short list for the Nobody Grease Prize.

Just grease the right skids and your in the running for the worlds greatest whatever! No talent necessary, no accomplishment required, no gifted enlightenment, Nada!

Just be a loud mouthed leftist spouting the rhetorical propaganda of the failed socialists and communists and your in the running, guaranteed for Nobody Grease Prize!

What is the DNC doing sending out communications for the President? I thought that was the job of the WHPO? This is very disturbing and indicative of the slight of of hand tactics that this jackanapes has employed during his whole, but albeit short, career as a dishonest politician!
