Maathai, Carter, Gore, Arafat,ElBaradie, Tutu, and Obama (just a small selection for an example) have a singular trait in common. They are all pathological liars and anti-human existence. Is this not peculiar?? While the majority of the scientists that were awarded the prize have legitimately deserved it, the vast majority of the " peace prize" recipients for peace accomplishments have been far-left anti-American/Western idealogs with extreme views of humans and the relationship with "mother earth". The usefullness of humans on earth are now in question with many of these nutballs that see humans as "ecotumors" and "ecomalignancies" (Sunstein, Holdren), and the interventions to decrease the human "toll" on the planet. How have we spun off in such an insane direction? Julie, you are correct. We are in for a very bumpy ride. I cannot nominate the poolcleaner until November, but it is on my calendar. Obama's nomination did what it was intended to do. To spit in the faces of those that do not enbrace far-left/socialistic views.Well, the joke is on them. We already devalued the importance many years ago. And now see it as a complete farce worthy of SNL humor and a passing mention on a bathroom wall.

The recent recipients of the award have either been fools or knaves. If I had received the Nobel Peace Prize, I would accepted the prize and promptly donate the proceeds to the NRA. Peace through Strength. lol

If I'm not mistaken Nobel prizes were first given out only for the sciences. The Nobel Peace Prize came later and may even have been established after his death. The name Nobel was attached to the peace prize to give it cache. Alfred Nobel, again if I am not mistaken, was the inventor of Dynamite, who established the prizes after reading his own obituary in the papers.

I believe that Nobel started all this to put some distance between himself and the moniker "Merchant of Death" hence the name Nobel "Peace" Prize.

After his disappointment with his lifes work you would think that maybe someone would want to stick with the plan on this one. They should try to get back to the original intent and stop making a mockery of it. I'm sure he wrote it down somewhere.

I mean really, yasir arafat
