Bill;

Have no doubt about the fact that BHO is intentionally tearing down our economy...

But don't fall under the delusion that he's doing it in order to help anyone but himself.. the poor, like the military, indeed every member of our society are merely expendable tools to him to be used to promote his own lust for political power... AT ANY COST.... And yes, even at the cost of destroying this once great country.

Just know that he sure doesn't give a damn about the poor...

Recently, my unemployment benefits ran out and at the age of 65 I am trying to live off of Social Security Benfits. Shortly thereafter, my aging Jeep, finally had one thing that I could not afford to repair, so after 313,000 miles, I sold it and am finally riding buses again.

I had to decide whether to watch TV or entertain myself on the internet. (Isn't that poetic?) I gave up TV including WWE for spending time on various websites. I can contact Senators with ideas, etc.

I started playing games on Facebook and learned a lot about economics. I also learned about international economics. As I am plodding along in Mafia, Farmville, Ages of Castles, Vampires, etc

I am noticing that some are growing fast and others are plodding along like me...(1)There appears two ways to grow fast bypass the system if one knows about who computers work and (2) buy more ability to grow with actual $$$. So it is those who are playing the game who have money who can beat those don't. I see individuals from oil rich countries growing rapidly and having a large army etc.

As I ride the buses, watching my fellow bus riders, I watch those driving in the cars, I wonder who in the Mercedes, Jaguars are actually beating me in the games....?

So should we destroy our economy in order to advance helping those who are less fortunate than us?

Jack;

Well said...

What better proof of the evil of leftist thinking can there be besides the illegal immigration issue...?

The statistics prove SO dramatically how badly the illegals affect us, and yet despite all the facts, the liberals are willing to place their lust for power over the lives and the rights of the citizens they swore an oath to protect, just because they see the illegals as a possible source of additional votes...

Anyone in congress who votes for any bills granting them any rights whatsoever, should be tarred & feathered & run out of town...

Cee
I am a conservative I am like just about everyone else I have a family a son and a wife tonight we will go out and celebrate our thirty second year of marriage. When I was young you might say I was a liberal to some degree but my life followed along Winston Churchill’s famous admonition. Having been involved in war and then my second career I have seen the best and worst of people I have seen men die for there fellow soldiers. I have also seen men that have cut the throat of there own baby. I have seen so called mothers and fathers have booze and drugs in there home but there children were eating mustard sandwiches. I have testified against a young man that was no more than twenty one years of age but murdered a female city manager in Florida because her husband hired him to do it. I have seen people do five K runs for diabetes and met doctors that perform cancer surgery for free. All I want is what the founding documents guarantee me. As for the guns you speak of so lightly with out them there very well might not be any butter. Also any honest police officer either local or federal will tell you they cannot protect you after you have been robbed ,raped or murdered they can come along collect the evidence and build a case hopefully against the perpetrator and turn it over to an Attorney General and hope he can and will prosecute. We do not have body guards for every citizen.
Schools started failing years ago with the help of the NEA and liberals that still despite the fact we spend more on education than any country on earth if we would only throw a few billion more at the failed system it would fix it. The very thing that would fix it Vouchers and competition they fight against tooth and nail because the NEA has so much influence with liberal legislators. They provide them with millions in campaign cash and foot soldiers in elections. Private schools educate vastly better at a much lower over all cost and there graduates have a distinct advantage over the public school graduate. Home schooler’s do even better and they have no problem with free thought. There is an old saying garbage in garbage out.

I believe in the constitution as stated above. I agree and have screamed for years that we had to control the border seventy five percent of all drugs that enter this nation comes across the southern border and they have destroyed millions of lives yet the liberals still do not want to secure that border. I also believe that NAFTA must be renegotiated we got a raw deal. I want everyone that is employed in this nation to have to be here legally and those that are not be jailed and deported. Do you realize that every day that twenty to twenty three people citizens of this nation die at the hands of an illegal alien that has no right to be here either by them driving impaired or homicide. Do the math on that weekly, monthly, and yearly. Yet the liberals fight to give these violators of our nation and laws amnesty. So yes I am a conservative with a capital C I believe in the 1st amendment and I ensure that by my right to the 2nd amendment.

Cee:

I think we again are getting caught up in bad terminology..

What specifically makes you left leaning, if you're a fiscal conservative ???

I consider myself to be fiscally conservative, and SOCIALLY liberal, in that I'm against any governmental interference in anyone's personal lives, such as laws prohibiting gay marriage, or any kind of puritanical censorship laws, etc..

I don't think one can logically be a fiscal conservative and a supporter of any other policies of the left however, such as government programs like food stamps, or any governmental involvement in health care

Swemson

David;

I'm sure you have something to say on this subject...........??????????

Hi Cee. I'm the editor of NewsReal and I tend to think of myself as having a lot of centrist tendencies as well.

Like you I'm more than happy to have reasonable discussions and compromises with those on "the other side" who are willing to do so. The unfortunate problem is that so many on the Left are not willing to do that. We deal with True Believers who defend cop killers and whose method of argumentation is to employ ad hominem attacks. Because we oppose increasing the size of government we're labeled "racist." And I end up having to ban commenters because all they want to do is smear. They don't want to engage our arguments, they want to attack us personally.

The unfortunate reality is this: we can't have friendly, productive dialogue with everyone. We will with people when we can, but we can't with everyone.

These articles and their followup comments really up set me. This country is so polarized. I am a Jewish, Left leaning Centrist who is also a fiscal conservative . Sometimes I feel that there is no place for me in this push me pull me way of talking. There is good and bad in each side. Where are the Centrists who can see what is being presented without having tunnel vision? With the extremists on both sides being more and more confrontational, I despair of anything being accomplished. Both sides seem to want all or nothing and are sure of their right to have their side win. So as a result we, the people of this country are losing everything that we hold dear. We have guns over butter. We have corporate welfare. Our schools are failing and the people who can afford to are moving to private schools or home schooled so that their particular point of view can be promulgated to the exclusion of free thought. We can't control our borders. our manufacturing has been outsourced so that we are dependent on the bounty of others. The wars and the unwieldy social services are bankrupting what is left of our budget. Where are the people who can look at things and see what is good on both sides and find a reasonable compromise?

Melvin, I suggest you need a history lesson. I won't attempt to give it because the very nature of your assertion makes clear you'd never dig that deep into your "belief" system to stir up real thought. But, just so you don't stand unchallenged -- check out US political history of the last, say 50 years. Leftists don't scare people into making defense contractors rich -- they scare them into making government rich with tax dollars so they can spread the wealth around. Leftists may not be Marxist in the strictist sense, but the difference is minimal. Marxists, Fascists, Progressives -- whatever name you want to call them by -- believe the state trumps the individual in all things, and each citizen and his wealth exists for the state. Nothing in the founding documents, or the writings of the Founders, suggests they had anything except contempt for that philosophy. Until your candidate 'won' the Presidential election, most of us believed the Constitution and Declaration still had real meaning for Americans. It's only taken nine months for him to prove us wrong.
