KARL STEIN is RIGHT , ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.

My shrink always told me to look at TODAY , TOMORROW and THE FUTURE.
YESTERDAY is dead and gone , YESTERDAY is not even important anymore.
NOBODY gets better when they live with their heads in the past sentence.
Do you really think that punishment for Roman Polanski will ever make things right ?
Even if Polanski spends the next 20 years in jail people would never forgive him anyway.
With this thought in mind : If people never forgive him anyway WHY SHOULD ROMAN
POLANSKI PAY THE PRICE ?
Only if it would make him popular it could be the right thing to do.
So i see no reason at all why he should come to America and face the charges ?
If i were his lawyer i'd tell him not to go Santa Monica.

Melvin, get real. FFS. He plied a 13 year old girl with alcohol and drugs, and then had sex with her despite her protests.

No one HAS to have sex with a 13 year old girl – no matter the temptation. No one forced Polanski to rape her orally, vaginally and anally. He did that.

Oh, she looked 18 did she – well, that makes it OK then. She may have asked her to stop, he may have plied her with drugs and alcohol, and he may then have raped her orally, vaginally and anally, but at least she looked like she was at the age of consent.

How anyone can look at the case of a guy having sexual intercourse with a 13 year old girl and manage to see the 43 year old man as a victim is beyond me.

From eye witnesses, the accuser is this ase had the appearance and demeanor of a 20 year old young woman. In the emergency department at Parkwood Hospital, she was not upset, but matter of fact. It seems from the real information that very vulnerable Polanski was the victim of an extortion, when he refused to pay the amount demanded by the mother and extremely precoscious accuser. Incidentally, the accuser wants this to be dropped. Why? Most likely, the admission of guilt to a lesser charge was to get rid of this case when he was very depressed about the slaughter of his beloved wife and nearly born child. This depressed state has been well documented. So the vulture people,
without knowing the real facts, seek to crucify the victim Polanski. Shame of the vulture people.

Although I usually do not agree with the Hollywood “elites” I recognize that their value system is quite different from Middle America: “Art is more important than people.” So their behavior is predictable.

It makes me sick that members of the arts community have come out in support of Polanski. For God’s sake he raped the girl orally, vaginally and anally! One wonders how he thought he would get away with it. Perhaps he thought that he could pay the girl off and this raises questions as to whether he had done this type of thing before. Polanski is a coward and he should face the music.

Oh, I got it, it’s all evil mothers’ fault…It’s not that he took advantage of young, vulnerable and weak girl for a few seconds of orgasm – it’s her mother who made him do it…I got it/. I bet if he did the same to the 18 years old woman you’d say “She made him do it – she wore a short dress”.

The difference between animal and a human is that human is capable of controlling his own instincts, and most of the civilized men who have “weakness for the youth” do pretty darn good job in this field. And those who don’t – go to jail, wealthy or poor.

Polanski is not wealthy and vulnerable who evil mothers take advantage of. He is a rapist and pedophile who happened to be reach and got off the hook, period.

I cannot understand the direction of the moral compass of those, especially who have children or grandchildren and still try to portray Polansky in most sophisticated ways as some sort of victim…Unless they have their own skeletons in the closets to hide…

Pity Polanski wasn’t a very talented welder. Being a welder would certainly have excused his indiscretion, perhaps even turned it into a minor peccadillo, heavy on the minor, of course. Unlike filmmakers welders do something useful, contribute to society even, so one can look the other way when they go off the straight and narrow.

What utter denial! or are they actually trying to get away with it, make it seem acceptable?

I think that is the thing in this case that is almost as bad as forcing a young girl who was pleading with him to leave her alone (read the transcript) is the Arrogance of the community that defends him without regard to his transgression, only with regard to his talents, as if that excuses him.

They seem to think they are above the law. This to me would place them beneath contempt except that I have to remember we are all in this thing together and truly There but for the grace of God go I.

Given a difficult situation and painful, unresolved past, any of us can do very wrong things, but that still doesn’t make it OK.

We can have compassion on him but justice still needs to be met.

I’m with Brietbart. Could there be other victims? usually there are.

Predators can’t help themselves in many cases.

Certainly, Billy Clinton’s “women” started coming out of the woodwork, but of course many people choose to ignore those facts, too.

Sad….all the way around.
