Is New Majority Trying To Say Something With Its Choice of Picture?
This morning David Horowitz highlighted how at David Frum’s New Majority site Frum posted his most recent response in the debate without linking to the rebuttal.
While this is a worthy criticism to make I was also put off by a different aspect of New Majority’s presentation: Why did they choose the above two pictures of Frum and Horowitz to illustrate Frum’s “Scorched Earth Conservatives” response?
Take a look at the two pictures. For Frum we see only his face and he has a fairly gentle, moderate expression. For Horowitz it’s a full body shot and he has an aggressive look on his face. (What little one can even make of his face!)
There are plenty of choices available when one searches “David Horowitz” in Google Image Search — including head shots and calm expressions. So why would New Majority’s editors go out of their way to pick an image in which Horowitz looks unreasonable?

What did you expect? For more than 100 years, the left wing has found the careful selection of photos very useful to promote their cause. You long ago established the preminence of writers and editors to manipulate opinion……………go back and read “The Engineering of Consent” and/or “The Fabian Freeway”, both devoted whole chapters to their left wing causes.
What is David Frum’s gig, anyway?

OK. I am getting a little more familiar with this Frum character. He calls himself a conservative?? and, the choice of photos. Isn’t this what they teach in so-called Journalism 101?
All I gotta say, is I would NEVER want to be on the opposing side of a debate with David Horowitz.
The picture looks like Frum has fallen for the old juvenile joke: Now say S P O O N.

Dear jbtrevor. YOU might be ok on an opposing side of a debate because YOU would likely do your homework. The reason these guys are getting so roundly trounced is because their logic is faulty and their research is lacking. They don’t back up what they say with thinking and factual examples.
I mean, yes, DH is formidable. We know that, but please take heart from it rather than get intimidated.

It would be difficult to find a topic upon which we disagree or would soon agree to agree.
