First of all, o did not have time to plan a new strategy for the past 9 months because he was too busy 'fundamentally changing this nation' to comply with his own notions of what is 'good for the people' (but of course, that does not imply that is for Congress or his 'own' czars etc...), just the 'little people' of this nation.

Second, we cannot expect o to change his beliefs - beliefs that were deeply implanted in him through the years by his 'friends' on the DEEP left who hate this country. So, anything that will comply with those ideas is what he will default to. I don't even think o has enough morality to see what he is doing to our country.

We NEED to take back America while there is still something to take back.

Judy,
I hate to think it but I agree with your statement,"The taliban tactics are something that American’s cannot even fathom and their will is great."

It all comes down to Islam. And the power that comes with it. (As in any other religion)

Living in such hate, squaller, destitution and hopelessness, they can not see few other hopes than death and heaven, or the complete enslavement of all non Muslims and the taking of everyone else's recourses. That is why I believe of the inevitability of war between Islam and everyone else. Or complete surrender.

While we keep pandering to the"Religion of peace", we morally decline. They reproduce and western civilization fades. Europe is mere decades away from seeing their countries being bred out of existence. Their own voting systems will insure that Sharia law will be instituted.

If they take Afghanistan you'll see a surge of Wahabism and radical Islam that will shake the world. Throughout the world there are thousands of attacks since 9/11 that go unreported by the FMSM. Obama is a weakling and a fool. His 'cult of personality' will create years of trouble for us and the world.

I've heard some say that Obama's failures will lead to another Reagan, as Carters failures did. I hope so.

oldwolves,
You are correct and the fact that an infrastruction, assets and resources are not taken into account when G.B. took on Afganistan. It is a blighted landscape (not really a nation) with a destitute, worn population that is beyond it's breaking point. They simply do not have the inner-drive to regain what was a beautiful, thriving country with a rich heritage. They are dependent upon external sources for daily needs and the countries struggle to survive even one more day. I do not know if there is an answer. The taliban tactics are something that American's cannot even fathom and their will is great. If we don't put the pedal to the metal in Afganistan and get on board and do whatever it takes to REMOVE the problem (not arrest, not imprison), it will move and grow like a plague. Obama needs to listen to those with real world experience and move beyond political correctness and indiscision.

There can be no success in Afghanistan because there is nothing there to sustain. Most of the country is just barren and forbidding landscape that can be used in science fiction movies for sets imitating the moon. Thats the main reason the Russians lost. The majority of cities are kept barely alive, mostly because of outside nations. It's a living pit. Little else. It's major export are terrorist and terror camps. But we are stuck there because of the terror threats that are there. If we leave and give in to the taliban they'll have a second victory against a world power and they'll use it to recruit thousands of more terrorist and moneys from their supporters. O's inability to face reality will bring only more death to Americans there and here. His policies that cripple our military will insure that.

Okay, so we sent the thousands of troops to Afghanistan to prevent a "probably military failure". Can someone describe what a military success would look like and when will we know we are done i.e. what will have to occur so we are not in the same position in a few months/years that we are in now?

I hope those are the questions our President is asking.

Afghanistan has always been a straw man for 0. He and the democrats used it as a bludgeon over Bush's head for campaign purposes only. The FMSM helped 0 in making Afghanistan the 'good' fight , the 'necessary' war, the no-choice-but-to-fight and can't-afford-to-lose war.
The left couldn't agree more. Iraq was a mistake. Afghanistan is the heart of the Tali-ban. Iraq was a no win scenario. Millions marched against the 'quagmire'.

But now that Afghanistan is 0's war, he ignores his generals advice, sets rules of engagement that guarantees OUR soldiers deaths,(As just recently happened to four marines who couldn't get back up because the enemy surrounded themselves with civilians and under no circumstances were they to fire into enemy positions if civilians could be killed).

0 only wishes to appease Islam and he never intended to win in Afghanistan. The left remains ever so silent because that was their wish too. We will withdraw from Afghanistan just as assuredly O withdrew missile defense from Poland and Czechoslovakia. The Taliban will grow stronger, and we will be diminished.

Here in NY and also Denver CO, came within hours of a Madrid and London type of 9/11. This appeasement towards terrorist will kill more Americans.
