Is Congressman Joe Wilson really a racist?

Is Congressman Joe Wilson really a racist?

A lot has been said since Representative Joe Wilson called President Obama a liar last Wednesday night. Wilson’s outburst, if anything, demonstrates the frustration of Republicans in the House and Senate who are weary of the Democrats’ attempts to steamroll the health care bill right over them. Unfortunately, the underlings of the left are only able to interpret this passion as evidence of Republican racism.

Last night’s Red Eye discussed Georgia Congressmen Hank Johnson’s recent assertion that Wilson’s accusation may soon lead people to start “riding through the countryside with white hoods.”

Red Eye guest and criminal-defense attorney Remi Spencer reacted:

“This is exploiting one person’s opinion, or stupid lack of professionalism. Lack of civility, where he obviously shouldn’t have screamed out ‘you lie,’ has nothing at all to do with racism!”

We can all agree that Wilson’s comment was rude, but that is all it was.  He apologized for it. But of course, the race-hustlers on the left are now on the offensive.

One of those hustlers, ex-president turned America-hater Jimmy Carter, recently said: “There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president.”  How, then, did an African-American get elected, if we are still a country full of racists? Wilson should not have to waste a moment of his time trying to answer allegations as delusional as Carter’s. My guess is, anyone who believes Carter’s garbage probably watched Alexandra Pelosi’s documentary Right America, Feeling Wronged one too many times.

Unfounded accusations of racism are out of control. It gets so ridiculous at times, that Red Eye host Greg Gutfeld often ends his “Gregalogue” segment by saying, sardonically, “if you disagree with me, you’re probably a racist.”

David Horowitz wrote a book entitled Hating Whitey that addressed the left’s propensity to recklessly smear their ideological adversaries as “racists”:

“If the white majority is racist, how can a government it dominates be counted on to redress racial grievances?  The question is absurd because the premise is absurd.  In fact it is America’s white racial majority that ended slavery, outlawed discrimination, funded massive welfare programs for inner-city blacks, and created the very affirmative action policies that are allegedly necessary to force them to be fair.”

Horowitz also discusses how our political history ought to be read:

“It is in large measure the history of a nation that led the world in eliminating slavery, in accommodating peoples it had previously defeated, in elevating nonwhites to a position of dignity and respect, in promoting opportunities and right to women, and is fostering a healthy skepticism towards unworthy leaders and towards the dangers inherent in government itself.

“This is a vision that is now called ‘conservative,’ but only because leftists currently shape the political language of liberalism and have been able to define the terms of the political debate.  There is nothing ‘liberal’ about people who deny the American narrative as a narrative of freedom, or who promote class, race, and gender war in the name of social progress.  But they have created a situation in which ‘conservative’ describes those who cherish the constitutional and philosophical framework of American pluralism, and guard is against the advocates of a political bad faith.”

White America is beyond race. The left simply can’t accept it. That being said, if you still want to listen to Hollywood idiots, along with America-hating “civil rights leaders” like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, by all means do so. Of course, by saying that I am most likely a racist.
