Comment of the Day: The Key Issue In the Health Care Debate That No One is Talking About
Posted on September 12 2009 8:52 am
The biggest lie I heard from Obama, as seen on TV, was that he said his health care program would not increase the deficit by one dime. I started laughing after hearing this. Am I going nuts, how come no one has picked up on this?
His solution to pay for the system was to get rid of the waste and fraud, yeah right. It’s been tried didn’t work. When I owned a medical equipment co., an investigator came around to check my files for medicare fraud billing.
It’s on this issue which the health care question needs to be fought. So far so much of the debate seems to be driven by scary ideas like death panels and coverage for illegal immigrants. And while these arguments should certainly be part of the discussion, the overriding concept which has the most potential to resonate with centrists and independents is this: we do not have the money for a new entitlement program.
We don’t have the money to pay for the entitlements already in place! One of the authors we publish at Front Page is Vasko Kohlmayer. He writes extensively about the amount of debt our government is already carrying. To continue to add to it at our children and grandchildren’s expense is not only irresponsible but also deeply immoral.
