Judy commented on Kathy Shaidle’s post from yesterday about President Barack Obama‘s longtime friend Hill Harper:
Good article. Hill Harper and Obama have a shared life experience. College forges many lifelong friendships that can be strong. Mr. harper, like many friends in life overlook the bad and instead see the friendship through that lens of the college years that produced joy, struggle, sleepness nights studying, personal growth and many other of the experiences that only occurs in the college enviroment. This loyalty is strong and is difficult to destroy. This does not mean that Hill Harper embraces the philosophy of Obama. I have liberal friends that I do not always agree with, but, I will always be their loyal friend.
Remember, the idea that our friends must share our politics is a Stalinist concept. For example Che Guevara once said that to be his friend you had to also embrace his Marxism.
