There would be no way a doctor could be sued by a slimy lawyer. If the Dr does something actually wrong, he would be arrested and tried for the crime. But just as many people buy insurance with their airline ticket, in this case if the patient thinks there may be a problem, the patient buys insurance, not the Dr. Tort reform should take the shape of the patient buying liability insurance, if they wish.

The O man was actually squirming in his chair. I am a retired 58 year old nurse that has literally seen everything, and this was just too much for me. Where has commonsense and integrity gone? I guess that tingle grew into a wiggle. On the toe issue. Open chest surgery of any type is inherently risky and has a high complication rate even when the surgery itself is successful. These patients already possess many areas of disease and disability that has caused them to have a surgery in the first place. Clots and bleeding are the main conplication followed by infection. I won't go into death since that is self explanatory. Patients are told before this and other surgeries of complications. But, like all things American, there are lawyers that will pounce on any and all complications. Loosing toes is a complication since removal of the replacement vein comes from the leg if it is healthy enough to harvest. These patients already have decreased circulation and well you guessed it, they clot off and limit circulation to the area. Toes are not accessories on the ends of the feet, but serve to balance you as you walk. Well, enough of my praddle. Should O's show be upped to "R" rated or zoom right to MSNBC porno?
