Immediately after President Barack Obama’s health care speech, there were two major stories covered by the leftist media:
1. Obama may have saved health care
2. South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson yelled “You lie” during the speech.
As soon as Obama’s speech went off the air, Keith Olbermann was there to crucify Wilson’s overzealous rebuttal. He mentioned it multiple times over the next hour of his show. He asked every guest about it. And when he was done he handed off the “Beat up Joe Bat” to Rachel Maddow. Are these the same two people who defended avowed communist Van Jones and applauded him for calling Republicans A-holes? Are these the same two people who ignored Jones admitting he was a communist and signing a 9-11 Truther statement?
The New York Times also immediately wrote about Wilson’s remark. Interesting, considering that the Times published absolutely ZERO stories on Jones until the weekend he resigned. However, the Times as least reported on the fact that Wilson later apologized for his actions — something Olbermann and Maddow either knew and ignored or purposefully chose not to check.
“This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the president’s remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill … While I disagree with the president’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the president for this lack of civility.â€
I wonder if Olbermann and Maddow will report on that, or simply continue to push the story that Republicans are rude and disrespectful.
