"Van Jones Is A Mainstream Liberal" — Alan Colmes

2009 September 6

If you didn’t believe it when I said it, here’s authentification from Alan Colmes who, after ignoring all the evidence about who Van Jones actually is and what he believes, and pretending that it’s all a Glenn Beck-World Net Daily-Horowitz plot, concludes “Van Jones is a mainstream liberal.” That’s exactly right Alan. And that’s exactly the problem.s

Yes that is who this country needs to be saved from liberals.

  2. September 7, 2009

When asked if he thought 9/11 was an inside job, Colmes said he was “agnostic on the issue.” So there you go!

Van Jones and Alan Colmes — birds of a feather.

  4. September 7, 2009

I read Alan Colmes attempt to clear Van Jones. In it is a video of Meg Whitman praising Van Jones. Someone needs to get to Whitman and ask her to explain herself.

  5. September 7, 2009

I have no doubt that Alan is a nice guy and is someone I wouldn’t mind sharing a glass of cabernet with while discussing sports and the weather. But, like many of my liberal friends, he is unable or unwilling to acknowledge that the rest of America does not agree with his extreme political views. Obama’s Democrat Party is not the Democrat Party that Baby Boomers grew up with. By placing very public and unabashed radicals like Jones in White House advisory positions, the Left has been caught “red” handed trying to shove the Socialist camel into the Republic’s big tent nose first.

As for Meg Whitman and her fascination with Van Jones: the Republican Party in California has been warned.

Swemson, I agree with you! Why do gutless Republican politicians always tiptoe around for having conservative ideas when Democrats can get away with any lie they want to tell! I say it’s time to go on the offensive and stop apologizing for telling the truth!

Actually, Ronald, Alan is a decent fellow, certainly misguided, but not dishonest. I wrote him about his column on Van Jones and he’s invited me on his radio show — probably tomorrow night.

  8. September 7, 2009

    David;

By doing his show, don’t you think you’re helping him to legitimize his absurd point of view ?

  9. September 7, 2009

    David,

Since I will likely miss Alan’s show, would you kindly post a link to the transcript and/or audio on newsreal or frontpage?

I think it would be helpful for the world to know (by your clear articulation here) who we are referring to when we say left, liberal, and/or Progressive Democrat. Many who identify with these descriptions disagree with us but are not working toward undermining our freedom/liberty…they simply don’t recognize the tactics of those who also identify with the “labels” that are…why they don’t is another topic for discussion.

I agree with you about Alan Colmes being a decent person and his absence from the 9pm EST time slot on Fox News (Hannity & Colmes) is missed!!

Decent + Misguided (not dishonest) = Dangerous (epecially one who has a following)

Why do we have to be so polite and considerate…..

“I have no doubt that Alan is a nice guy and is someone I wouldn’t mind sharing a glass of cabernet with while discussing sports and the weather.”

when talking about our opposition in the political / philosophical debate, when their ideas and proposals proclaim their right to enslave us and force us to pay for their altruism.

Isn’t that kind of apathy at least partly responsible for why these people have managed to grab so much power over us so quickly ?

Whenever I hear people saying stuff like:

“Oh that’s OK.. they mean well”

    I want to puke.

It’s not OK for anyone to say that they want to rob us. We should deal with those people the same way that everyone did with those evil perverts from NAMBLA…

If we don’t stand up and fight to defend our rights every time someone threatens them, then we’ll just keep getting run over the way we’ve been over the 9 months.

Enough is enough. I’m NOT going to take it anymore.

We’re talking about a pundit not a pedophile.

We are talking about the first and highest freedom, that of free speech. Colmes is entitled to his opinion, and I’m willing to defend his right to speak. If you want to defend your rights by stomping on the rights of others, then you may have more in common with the socialists you claim to defend against than you do with the Founding Fathers and our political and philosophical traditions.

“There ought to exist the fullest liberty of professing and discussing, as a matter of ethical conviction, any doctrine, however immoral it may be considered. If all mankind minus one were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.” John Stuart Mill.

    Mr. Goldstein;

Perhaps I didn’t express myself well… I thought I had, but in any event, you misunderstand my statement above.

In another blog, earlier today (re: Howard Zinn) I made the following posting:
    ————————————————–
    “Swemson PERMALINK
And on top of that, they have the chutzpah to demand that we respect their ideals while they’re picking our pockets !

The only thing about them that’s more disgusting is the despicable way in which these cowards expect others to defend them when things get violent (since they don’t have the stones to defend themselves), and then they spit on us when they see us in uniform & call us baby killers or accuse us of using torture.

I didn’t mind defending their right to say whatever they wish, but if they stick their hand in MY pocket.. they’re going to lose the hand.”
    ————————————————–
Alan Colmes and those like him present no threat to my rights. They just like to hear the sound of their own voices.

In short sir, I have no desire to “stomp on” anyone for speaking their minds, even when their speech disgusts me, but that does not apply to people who are actually and actively attempting to enslave me, rob me, violate MY freedom & liberties, and more importantly MY right to say what’s on MY mind, as this current administration is actively trying to do with their new “diversity czar”.

Hopefully nobody’s going to have to kick anyone’s ass this time around, and we’ll get rid of this bunch of liars and looters without the need to resort to violence, but from everything I’ve learned thus far in my life, and from what this current bunch of would be dictators has shown us in the last 8 months, I don’t think we’re going to be that lucky this time.

  14. September 7, 2009

I just read what I wrote again sir, and I think it’s pretty clear what I meant.

I asked the question “why should we be so polite and considerate” about those people, I didn’t ask why we shouldn’t kick the crap out of them.

What I meant is that rather than ignoring what these people say, and silently walking away, I think we should stand up and tell these people what we honestly think about them and their ideas.

I think we should challenge them about where they got the idea that they have the right to spend our money, or tell us what we do in any field of endeavor, as long as we’re not violating anyone else’s rights to their Life Liberty or Pursuit of Happiness.

I think we should expose the truth about their ideology whenever we can, to whomever will listen, and make the true nature of their philosophy known to the huge numbers of Americans who aren’t unfortunately as perceptive as we are.

I think we should be confrontational, and not just politely treat these people as if they just had “different” opinions than we do.

If you look back at our last revolution, you’ll find lots of great Americans who stood up and defended their rights with words as well as weapons, and we have to be ready to do the same this time around otherwise we might as well give up right now.

70 years ago, a number of my ancestors had numbers tattooed to their arms.

That isn’t going to happen to me sir… I promise you !

    Swemson

“Not as lean, not as mean… but still a Marine !

    Ooh rah !

    Julie,

I miss the Hannity and Colms program also. They complimented each other. I rarely if ever agreed with Colmes on anything, but I found him to be a very honorable man. On their program one night a guest (Demoncrat) insulted Hannity in the rudest way possible . When he did that Colmes immediately call this man out for all watching to see and hear by standing up for Hannity and his Character… My opinion of Colms was forever changed! He has integrity!
