Lessons of the Van Jones Affair: Democrats Are Comfortable With Communists, Racists and Anti-Semites

2009 September 6

There is no more mystery about Van Jones. He was a passionate defender of cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal, a self-satisfied and described “Communist,” a supporter of the destruction of the Jewish state, and a promoter of the theory that the Katrina tragedy was a white racist plot, and so forth. That’s okay with Democratic chairman Howard Dean, and Obama’s Environmental Quality Council head Nancy Sutley. (See Ron Radosh’s current blog for chapter and verse.) This should surprise no one. The recent heads of the black caucus in the House — part of the 120 member “progressive caucus” — have all been Castro-loving racists — Maxine Waters and Barbara Lee to name two off the top of my head. Diane Watson is probably next.  The Democratic Party today is a “popular front” organization (to pluck an appropriate term from the 1930s when liberals and Stalinists lined up together as well). There are no scoundrels, America haters, racists — that Democrats won’t assimlate. One of the more obnoxious racists and crooks in public life — Charlie Rangel — is still chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee because Nancy Pelosi can’t remove him so strong is his support in her party.

How did things get to this pass? Let me just single out one problem, because it’s the one conservatives can actually affect. And that is to start calling things by their right names. The timidity and cowardice of Republicans towards Democratic Party ourtages of this nature is a principal culprit. When you call Communists “liberals” it legitimizes them. The time has come to stop it. To stop the charade , stick your head out the window and say “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.”

Regarding Comrade Obama’s speech to our school kids on Tuesday: How can we, in two days, community organize a boycott/protest/sick day? Keep your kids out of school that day. Take them to the lake, the beach, anywhere outside of the airwaves.
I’m looking forward to hearing how Comrade Obama masks his recruitment of Obama Youth Komsomol Pioneers cloaked in a Mister Rogers Captain Kangaroo outfit. I wonder if Mister Greenjeans (Biden) will be there.
This week is going to be fun.
Beck, Horowitz and Limbaugh are gonna rip him to shreads–just based on the last 9 months.
I can’t feel sorry for the guy. He brings it on himself.

David Horowitz is right on the money again, as usual. The time to fight this is now – write to Republicans in Congress and other leaders of the Republican party to give them backbone to expose the socialists to the sleeping public. And in 2010 VOTE EVERY DEMOCRAT OUT OF OFFICE!.

I think we are…the opposition is so shocked by our actions the only defense they have is attempted dismissal, discrediting, & maligning personal attacks…which only rouses us more – Love it!!

I have been calling them Communists since I started to listen to them.

Reagan warned: “Don’t be afraid to see what you see.”

He also defined how to spot a communist: “How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin.”

I knew I was watching a communist from, the first speach I watched. We taught and learned about communism during the Cold War. In conversation a Cuban immigrant and I agreed that there must now be lots of America who don’t know about it

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! While Jones’s statements about being a communist and a “Truther” have gotten a lot of comment from conservatives and a little from the MSM, the telling thing in all this how his proud claim of being a black nationalist has gotten virtually no play from either group. (The MSM talked almost exclusively about the “truther” charge to cover-up the fact that the Obama administration hired an open communist.)

In addition to all the other harms that ‘communists’ have brought to this country is the perversion of our language. The attempt to repress free speech they call the ‘Fairness Doctrine’. The bailout of corporate criminals they call a ‘Stimulus Bill’. The capitulation to legitimizing illegal immigration they call ‘amnesty’ rathen than ’surrender’. Someone should publish a Dictionary of the Left (subtitle: What Their Words Really Mean).

Are you trolling or what? I mean seriously… “Comrade Obama”, how could anyone make such an ignorant comment with a straight face and mean it? Has the American education system (which is in need of serious reform) failed to educate you as to what the differences between communists and democrats are? In lieu of opening a can of worms I don’t have the time or the energy to manage, I’ll leave you with this: the first people to tell you that Obama is not a socialist are socialists themselves. Stop spreading lies before they catch up with you.

    Kyle;

    I’m confused… You wrote:

“I’ll leave you with this: the first people to tell you that Obama is not a socialist are socialists themselves.”

That sounds like it makes some sense… But the rest of your post doesn’t..

Are you saying that it’s OK for us to call him a Socialist but NOT a communist ?

There used to be a huge difference between democrats & communists, but the far left extremists in the democratic party, look just like communists to me.

If it walks like a duck, & talks like a duck… well you know what I mean…

    Plz explain…
