Van Jones and His STORMtroopers Denounced America the Night After 9/11
President Obama’s green jobs czar Van Jones co-founded the communist group Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM), Glenn Beck said on his TV show Friday.
STORM described itself and its activities as:
“We upheld the Marxist critique of capitalist exploitation. We agree with Lenin’s analysis of the state and the party. And we found inspiration and guidance in the insurgent revolutionary strategies developed by third world revolutionaries like Mao Tse-Tung and Amilcar Cabral.”
The vehemently anti-American group held a vigil in Oakland, California, “mourning the victims of U.S. imperialism around the world†on the night after Sept. 11, 2001. Jones does not appear to have distanced himself from his past communist activities and is now part of the Obama administration’s push to turn Sept. 11 into a National Day of Service focused on the promotion of the radical environmentalist agenda.
The vigil was reported by World Net Daily which excerpted parts of a history of the now-disbanded group. The 2004 document, called “Reclaiming Revolution: history, summation & lessons from the work of Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM),†may be found on an archival site here.
Jones also founded the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, which joined in the vigil according to an Ella Baker Center press release from 2001. The press release contained this passage that quoted Jones:
“Anti-Arab hostility is already reaching a fever pitch as pundits and common people alike rush to judgment that an Arab group is responsible for this tragedy,†said Van Jones, national executive director of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights. “We fear that an atmosphere is being created that will result in official and street violence against Arab men, women and children.â€
“Reclaiming Revolution†also blamed the U.S. for 9/11. A passage on page 45 (27 of the PDF file) reads:Â
That night, STORM and the other movement leaders expressed sadness and anger at the deaths of innocent working class people. We were angry, first and foremost, with the U.S. government, whose worldwide aggression had engendered such hate across the globe that working class people were not safe at home. We honored those who had lost their lives in the attack — and those who would surely lose their lives in subsequent U.S. attacks overseas.

Using the Internet, we will enable our members to speak in unison, with an amplified political voice. We will keep them informed about the most pressing issues for Black people in America and give them ways to act. We will lobby elected representatives using email, the telephone, and face-to-face meetings. While Van hasn’t been active in the work of ColorOfChange in recent years, we are proud of where his work las led him. After helping ColorOfChange get started in 2005, Van moved on to other pursuits. In 2007, he founded and served as the executive director of Green For All, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for low-income communities connected to the greater effort of addressing climate change. Van now serves as Special Advisor for Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality.
In late December, a 2003 tape recording of Obama made while he was still in the Illinois Senate became public. It was a comment on Kennedy’s efforts to pass a prescription drug bill. Obama had described Kennedy as “getting old and getting tired” and said the backers of a strong drug measure should get after him.

Is van jones on the government payroll? He should be fired immediately. His hatred to America is not to be tolerated by people in authority. Why was he chosen in the first place?
Sept 11th as a national day of service? In my mind, that’s blasphemous. That would like saying, “Martin Luther King’s Birthday, The National KKK service day.” or Memorial Day, “The national day of barbque.” or Veterans Day, “The national day of the Nazi Pride.”
I’m apalled that our president is appointing so many people to positions where there is no congressional oversight. That’s just wrong, and it threatens to unbalance the system.
Congress needs to order the president to remove them from office and nominate people to fill equivalent positions that congress can have oversight of.
That is the very reason we should boycott those who responded to this organizations threat of a boycott. A bit of quid pro quo to force them to use thought before they respond to race baiters.
One reason is that “liberal” media outlets were “duped” along with a multitude of others with the novelty of it all.
Regardless of color, we judge people by the company they keep and this fact remained hidden to the majority of the voters quite effectively, but the “veil” has been removed…now what?
and the united states CIA helped to overthrow democratic governments in south america all in the name of instlling capitalism. thousands of people died, were tortured or just simply disappeared all in the name of a completely free market experiment advised by some american corporations and milton friedman. why did we do this? because these countries were becoming completelyy self sufficient. we couldn’t have that. american corporations wanted a piece of the pie (just like iraq). the cia supervised the torture of rebels resisting this infiltration. and you know what? the experiment failed. the leaders we helped to put into place became dictators, were greedy, and were cruel to its citizens. their economies would not recover for decades.
why don’t you people understand or even read what hte united states has done to other countries and why they hate us so? we had absolutely no business interfering with sovereign nations. these people were fine suffering no human rights violations. we can be real jerks and it’s time for us as americans to have the humility to accept it and change our ways. how long did it take for us to apologize to the slaves or teh chinese in california? we actually run around talking about how our country is the most free or whatever when we were last out of many advanced civilizations to even let our women vote.

Glenn Beck is one of the many trying to show what’s really happening. We’re losing our America folks, OUR AMERICA! How long does it take for you to see this. Do you need to lose all of your rights before you see what’s happening? It’s time to stop with the naivete and the lies yourself. Look what Adam states in his blog. Can you answer that?
