I will not say anything derogatory about Ted Kennedy in this open thread. There has been plenty of time for that before so no need to go further. What I will say is that I do think it will be quite a mistake for the left to use Kennedy’s death to try to “rally the troops” as it were in order to try to pass dreadful “healthcare” legislation. However, I read at the Corner today where Pelosi has already made such statements. These kinds of things are known to backfire. Does anyone remember the backlash in 2002 after the plane crash that killed a “progressive” senator (his name escapes me at the moment) that caused a serious backlash before the Congressional elections of that year?
