Outraged by People Power

2009 August 14

One of the enduring myths of the Left is that it somehow represents the common man. Both objective data and public perception show the Democrats are a party of elitists who look down upon the unenlightened hayseeds residing in Jesusland. MSNBC’s Ed Schultz demonstrated this last night with his outrage over a new Gallup poll that shows 34 percent of Americans feel the townhall health care “protests make them more sympathetic to the protestors’ viewpoints.”

Worked into a proper lather, Schultz spoke to Linda Douglass, White House Communications Director for Health Care Reform, Douglass was last seen in a video statement enlisting Americans to snitch on other Americans and lying about President Obama’s professed support for a universal, single-payer health care system.

Douglass commended her boss for his courageous stance at highly scripted public meetings, saying Obama “brought some of the misinformation up himself so that he could answer the questions himself. He’s looking forward to doing that.” This is the Left’s idea of robust debate: allowing the president to dispatch strawmen. Even the New York Times has acknowledged Obama’s tendency to invent and then destroy spurious opposition.

What leftists like Schultz and Douglass — and Obama — fear is the common man, as represented by housewife and mother Katy Abram, flag enthusiast Kenneth Gladney, and the 53 percent of the American people who oppose ObamaCare. Most Americans lack the “intellectual sophistication” necessary to become a Euro-socialist — another blessing of liberty — but they recognize common sense when they hear it expressed by their fellow citizens in a public forum. That’s why socialized medicine is sinking as the American people exert the power of an informed citizenry. This reaction of 34 percent of Americans gives us all hope for a political and economic course correction.

To the Left, threatened by this surge in political consciousness, there is a simpler answer: abolish the people.

Glenn Beck is a Mormon, who thinks they are decended from the lost tribe of Israel, of course he loves fundy Jewish nutjobs.

Schultz is a pathetic Obama slurper who will do or say anything, including manipulating facts, to support his idol. I think like another Obama-drooler Chris Matthews, a thrill runs down his leg too, whenever he hears The Anointed One speak.

Unfortunately his ridiculously obvious one-sided bias completely disqualifies him like the Keith Obermanns of the world, as any type of legitimate newsperson or commentator. Instead he comes across as a highly unappealing, overweight bilious buffoon who barely merits even discussing.

And judging from his ratings, it appears that many (non) viewers of his show agree, so I doubt we’ll have to be subjected to his blowsy face on TV much longer.

    Right,
Fortunately, most of us can identify the fear mongers for their shouting and offensive delivery.
Unfortunately, there are too many of these extremists on each side of the issues.
We all can do ourselves and them a favor by responding to them directly to point out their misinformation, missed or ignored information and outright lies if we ourselves have the facts to do so.
That takes a bit of work sometimes and if we are not willing to do the work then we need to stay in the crowd that that listens to both sides and says to the shouters and name callers to cut the crap so we can hear the facts so we can make a reasonable decision about where we stand and who we support.

Since when has the government been fiscally responsible about anything? When was the last time we heard “truth and honesty” from our government?

National health care should be a states issue. The states are “sovereign entities” according to the Constitution. Each state should decide whether or not to have it. They already have welfare and many other social programs.

I’m bothered by the federal government which has, over time, progressively overstepped its Constitutional boundaries to the point where (it is obvious to me) it is becoming a dictatorship.

Every time they want to institute a program, they run roughshod over the American people.

National health care is really “medical” care. Health care has to do with eating natural foods and taking care of one’s health. Most doctors don’t dig far enough into nutrition to realize that most ailments are because we don’t eat right, and there are natural remedies and foods that can help reverse the degenerating of the human metabolism. THEY ONLY USE DRUGS, DRUGS AND MORE DRUGS.

Obama promised radical change. I believe it will be the return of feudalism.

So what if Glen Beck is a mormon- its better than being a regressive antigod socialist where the government grabs the power from the people. We are the government in the US- We The People – the government is suppose to work for us. Apparently, those who are elected arn’t getting it in DC.

Obama wants to change a free country- this is automatically bad change.
