Union Violence? What Union Violence?

2009 August 12

Pennsylvania Governor and major Hillary Clinton supporter Ed Rendell has found the key difference between conservative and leftist protesters: leftists are angels. Last night on MSNBC’s  Hardball, Stephen Moore of the Club for Growth pointed out the excesses of Democratic (and farther Left) rabble-rousers, Governor Rendell insisted on a distinction: “There’s a big difference. The rallies that are organized on the pro-Obama side: We don’t shout down other speakers. We don’t yell. There’s no rage. We let the discourse go on.”

Rendell uttered those words just a few days after police had arrested multiple uniformed Service Employees International Union (SEIU) members for assaulting Kenneth Gladney in St. Louis. (The SEIU is an integral component of Health Care for America Now, the Soros-funded coterie pushing for the government health care takeover.) One of the accused in Gladney’s attack justified himself by saying, “He attacked America!” Ironically, he claimed Gladney had attacked America while handing out flags bearing the inscription, “Don’t Tread on Me,” the slogan of the American Revolution. (Here’s the video of the aftermath.) Media reports indicate that a black SEIU member arrested in the assault called Gladney, who is also black, a racial slur, indicating he does not see his opponent as an authentic member of his own race.

Yet Rendell referred to conservatives as “crazies” who “want to destroy this country for their own reasons.” As I point out in today’s lead story on FrontPage Magazine, it is precisely the kind of rhetoric that Rendell — and Hardball host Chris Matthews, who called them racists — engaged in throughout the segment, that created the atmosphere of hatred and intimidation that resulted in union beatings of conservatives.

That’s one legitimate difference between conservatives and left-wingers. The Left doesn’t speak: it beats the Hell out of its opponents.

Another: when a misguided pro-life demonstrator commits an act of violence, conservatives condemn the violence; when a union activist brought into a townhall meeting by a Democrat to pack the crowd commits an act of violence, Democrats continue blaming the victims.

Better watch out, you conservative thugs! Studies prove that YELLING does much greater harm to the body politic than beefy union guys pushing around some old guy and his daughter at a town hall meeting.

After all, they were IMPOLITE and WAY TOO LOUD!

Just wheel him and his colostomy bag out of the room so that CIVIL DISCOURSE can take place…who wants to hear him shrieking about his health insurance getting cut when Obamacare takes over, anyway?

The last thing Nancy P. needs to deal with after a hard day of demagogueing is to have her relaxation shattered by some geriatric FOOL…she steps out of the limo and heads to her marble master bathroom for a much-deserved hot-tub scrub…she’s got the wall-mounted TV set to Olbermann on low-volume…the sounds of the whales shhhshing to her on her custom CD player, the world becoming peaceful…finally….

And then some scratchy-voiced old man and his Harrigan of a daughter cut through the silence and ruin the moment COMPLETELY!

    How right is that, anyway?

FYI the incident I just commented about may have happened at this town hall meeting or maybe another one – they are all bleeding together in my mind…but this GEEZER and his daughter are trying to get into the meeting and several union bullies are doing their level best to keep them OUT…I think the elderly gentleman, who was basically defenseless and wheelchair-bound, got in, but not his daughter. The union goons tossed her around pretty good.

Think I saw it on Hannity…I’m sure it’s on youtube.

    John.
