I have good news to report. Glenn Beck appears closer to suicide. I’m hoping that he does it on camera.
Suicide is rampant in his family, and given his alcoholism and his tendencies towards self-destruction, I am only hoping that when Glenn Beck does put a gun to his head and pulls the trigger, that it’s on television, because somebody will capture it on YouTube and it will be the most popular little piece of video for months.

This is pretty bad. I mean in this case it’s not as bad as Malloy simply wishing that someone commit suicide. He’s digging into Beck’s own troubled personal and family history. This is really, really low — and somewhat pathetic. You’re going to tell someone to kill themselves because you disagree with their politics? Wow…
The thing to understand about what Malloy’s fantasizing about is that it’s not without its context. Malloy’s fantasy is pure Stalinism — just totally eliminate the opposition. Wipe them off the face of the earth. In Marxist tyrannies throughout the 20th century, from Mao’s China to Fidel’s Cuba to of course Stalin’s Soviet Union this was the approach: kill everyone who won’t submit to the Marxist Utopia. But in America this tendency can no longer find its expression through violence. So it has been downgraded. These fantasies of death are not the only modern day expression of this Stalinist tendency. Another is in the murder of reputations. The Left cannot kill its opponents but it can make them political untouchables through branding them racist, sexist, imperialistic, homophobic, greedy, war-mongering Nazis.
I hadn’t come across Parks and his blog Black & Right before but I’ll certainly be keeping him on my radar — and I’d encourage others to do the same.
