The intimidation by police of a woman at a public event because she didn’t support Big Government healthcare “is a glimpse of our future,” Glenn Beck said Monday.
Beck reported that at a healthcare rally organized by the Democratic Party‘s “Organizing for America” arm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, ACORN directed police to silence a woman who disagreed with President Obama‘s socialist healthcare scheme. Â
Beck interviewed blogger Stacy Nason (breakdownofamerica.com) who showed up at what she thought was a townhall meeting on healthcare policy. Instead, Nason said a police officer directed by ACORN activists lectured her on whom she could and could not speak with, and told where to stand on the sidewalk. ”It was a blatant diregard for our First Amendment rights,” Nason said.
Beck suggested it made perfect sense that at a rally run by the Democratic Party and overrun with ACORN activists, a dissenter would be silenced:
If you want to understand Barack Obama, you’ve got to think like a community organizer — one that is transforming America into some sort of a thugocracy, and in the process trampling on and erasing our individual rights.Â
“We’re looking at the future,” said Beck. “This is the kind of thugocracy we’re heading towards.”
