FOX: Michelle Obama named in illegal "patient dumping" scheme

Just minutes after President Obama’s disastrous prime-time press conference touting his “health care” plan, FOX News host Sean Hannity aired a special segment about a so-called “patient-dumping” scandal in Obama’s hometown, Chicago.

And the scandal may very well involve First Lady Michelle Obama herself.

As is typical in many large urban centers, many of Chicago’s poor were visiting hospital emergency rooms for non-emergencies. While she was a highly-paid Vice President at the prestigious University of Chicago Medical Center, Mrs. Obama duly concocted the Urban Health Initiative (UHI) as a solution.

Under the UHI, Medicaid/Medicare patients were redirected from the Medical Center’s ER, to small, faraway clinics — thus freeing up the Medical Center’s precious resources (critics say) for the exclusive use of wealthier patients with private insurance.

Thanks to the efforts of Obama’s top political strategist (and long-time Chicago machine player) David Axelrod, the program was launched with millions of dollars in federal funding. According to the Chicago Sun-Times:

Another Obama adviser and close friend, Dr. Eric Whitaker, took over the Urban Health Initiative when he was hired at U. of C. in October 2007. Whitaker previously had been director of the Illinois Department of Public Health. Obama has said he recommended Whitaker for the state job, giving his name to Tony Rezko, who helped Gov. Blagojevich assemble his Cabinet. Rezko, a former fund-raiser for Obama and Blagojevich, was convicted in June on federal corruption charges tied to state deals.

Even though “patient dumping” was outlawed by President Reagan decades ago, critics have told Hannity that the UHI violates “the spirit of that law, if not the letter.”

Interesting that Glen Beck is right now building a case that Obama wants health care to be the big form of “reparations.”

So the poor she rejected are the same poor that he wants to give special privelige??????

Glen has some great observations as to why they don’t want us to read these bills.

Does anyone think this will garner the same amount of Headlines that Palin gets for her alleged and phony charges?

We shall see how much Ethics and Integrity the Media REALLY have. Oh wait…they don’t teach that in J-School. They only teach how to hate. Maybe just this once they will prove me wrong, but I won’t hold my breath.

I doubt that any of the left-wing mainstream media will pick this up — and if they do, then only to whitewash it somehow and dupe people into believing that there’s “nothing to see here”.

    Same old lefty crap.

Who really thinks this will get any air time? The country made the biggest mistake in electing the husband of this woman.
We are only now seeing what they have done and what they are capable of doing to ruin this country.
To all the useful idiots who elected him…did you wake up yet? Do you have a small clue as to what you have done….this man is YOUR worst enemy…but, who am I kidding…that is why you are called USEFUL IDIOTS.

People were abusing ER resources and she did something to stop it? Oh the horror.

bundee: It’s not that she “did something to stop it” it is WHAT she did to stop it. You can google this and find a Chicago news article about an allegedly poor black woman and her son whose face was severely bitten by a dog. Turned away from the hospital with nothing but pain killers, she was forced to take her child by bus to another hospital … this does not “solve” the problem, but merely foists it on another. Unfortunately, this is the usual way government solves problems. P.S. Michele got her $300K+ job just before her newly elected husband steered millions to the hospital … talk about pay to play …

How many poor black men and women would have voted for his punk ass if they knew?
