FREE SPEECH TV: Obama Finally Finds Something We Can't Afford: Military Superiority
Imagine a fighter jet that would give the United States complete air superiority in any conflict. An aircraft that’s faster, has longer range, and is more fuel-efficient at high speeds than any aircraft ever built. A plane virtually invisible to radar and deadly accurate, almost guaranteeing that any selected target would be destroyed. An aircraft so advanced that the armed forces of every country on earth are scared to death of it and know that they would be defenseless against it for years to come.
We have that plane. It’s called the F-22 Raptor, and our President and Commander-in-Chief, Barack Obama, hates it.
In fact, he hates it so much that, according to a report by Amy Goodman’s Democracy Now! Program on the Marxist mouthpiece Free Speech TV, he has threatened to veto a separate Pentagon bill “if it includes a $1.75 billion provision for the purchase of additional F-22 fighter jets made by Lockheed Martin.â€
According to the Pentagon, we need more F-22’s in order to maintain air superiority. At a cost of about $150 million each, however, Mr. Obama deems these planes to be too costly. This president, who spends money faster than it can be printed on worthless projects that do nothing but ensure a legacy of perpetual debt while he steers the country towards socialism, will be the cause of widespread job losses if the F-22 program is canceled, which now looks to be a certainty.
“It’s a [huge] loss of jobs,” said Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA). “It’s 90,000 jobs across 49 states … final assembly takes place in Marietta [Georgia], but parts and software and employees work at 49 states to make the F-22.”
Isakson says losing any job in this economy “doesn’t make sense,†and he’s right.
Think about it: the same president who authorized billions and billions in failed TARP stimulus monies, and who is now trying to push through a $1.5 trillion health care plan, has finally found something that he considers too expensive.

At the very least, close allies Japan and Israel should be permitted to purchase this aircraft. They obviously care about their national security even if our current leadership does not. More than jobs will be saved. There is precious expertise associated with such an advanced technology that will be lost. Small companies that provide advanced components, already at risk, could shut down, delivering yet another blow to our industrial infrastructure.
What is the real story with this plane. Ralph Peters (no Obama fan) has an article in the NY Post today that says the F22 is a piece of garbage. Can someone who knows about military needs, planes etc set the record straight please?

This plane is simply not necessary. There is nothing in our current aresenal that is close to being matched by our adversaries. In fact the most effective air weapon that we have had in the last three engagements has been the A-10 warthog. It is the cheapest plane in the inventory, carries a great deal of ordinance and is known for its mastery of close air support for ground troops. ( so the air force gave it to the national guard) Of course ground support is not something the air force has any desire to do. High flying techno superior craft at a 100 million plus a piece is more to the air forces liking. It weakens us by virtue of limiting the over all number of craft we can afford.
The F-22 can’t fly well, and is a hangar queen. Dump it now.
What gets me is that, back in the old days (50s and 60s) we had many aircraft companies developing many fighter aircraft. Today we have the 30 plus year old F-15 as a front line fighter and the 30 year old F 16 for air defense. Both are excellent planes of their era, but becoming outdated.
We can’t we build a simple, relatively stealthy plane that can dogfight (if needed) or shoot beyond the horizon missiles? We kinda have that with the F-18E, but even that base design is 30 years old (The F-18E shares some components with the F-18A and F-18C, but the airframe is larger). Why can’t we build a follow-on to the F-16? Simple, relatively inexpensive, incredibly maneuverable, shot AMRAAMs, had a rotary cannon. Why are we stuck with junk? The F-35 won’t be much better, and that one has to operate in mission-reload-mission mode if things get hot. I hear it is almost as much a hangar queen.
Bring back the F-5/F-20.
Obama is a fool plain and simple.
Obama was born in Kenya, is totally unqualified to lead this great nation, has ties to America-hating radicals, and is driving this once-great nation into bankrupcy. Why would anyone be surprised he wants to stop funding a weapon that makes America stronger?
Saw McCain on C-Span also saying he does not want more F-22’s.
Wants to go with the joint strike fighter being developed with the Eurabians and NATO. Only time will tell what kind of edge this will give us here in the United Socialist States of America.
It the F-22 is too costly, why doesn’t Obama just seize the company that makes it. SOP!
McCain is a Democrat in Republican Garb, Ignore this milquetoast piece of propaganda.
Israel wanted to buy these F-22 Raptors and THAT is why Ayatollah Obama is against the bill. Further, we spend more on government financed abortions than we do for 6 F-22s. Obama needs to hand out free zippers instead of scrubbing the F-22 where we would have MADE money.
Obama is into dismantling the USA because of National Socialistic Hatred For Productive States like USA.
Ignore McCain, ignore Obama, Ignore Obama Unconstitutional Czars – impeach The Nazi White Muffin Harry Reid who attached the destruction of Free Speech as a Hate Crime Bill. We need to end General Electrics Propaganda Reign of the Media (which works for Obama and Soros).

Regardless whether you think the F-22 is worth the money or not, look at the way China and Russia are building up their military. Our enemies are arming to the teeth and Obama wants to scale back military spending. This shows his true priorities, and it will leave America open to a pre-emptive attack and a weaker position in the future. Is this smart foriegn policy or a desire to disarm America ? Obama’s concern of wasting tax dollars is non-existent with every other government program he has pushed through Congress. This President has an agenda and destroying America is his real “Hope and Change” message, the people need to wake up to this reality. The last 7 months has brought tremendous deficit spending with no regard to accountablity. America will be doomed after 3 1/2 more years of this evil, lieing, hateful, foreign born, socialist driven con-artist.
‘…[Cancellation of the F-22] will be the cause of widespread job losses if the F-22 program is canceled, which now looks to be a certainty.
“It’s a [huge] loss of jobs,†said Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA). “It’s 90,000 jobs across 49 states … final assembly takes place in Marietta [Georgia], but parts and software and employees work at 49 states to make the F-22.â€

There’s an element of cognitive dissonance and economic ignorance here. First, it must be remembered that the military is a socialist enterprise. Second, it must be remembered that military spending is government spending. Third, it must be known that any dollar the government takes out of civil society and the free-market, whether it be by direct taxation, or indirect taxation through monetary inflation, it diverts resources from its most efficient uses to less efficient uses. Less efficient utilization of resources always leads to less jobs, not more jobs. To forget this is Bastiat’s broken window fallacy. Each job created by government spending will result in more than one job lost in civil society. If the government could tax as much as it wanted and turn around and create more jobs than it destroyed, then socialism would, at least partially, work. Clearly, the author is aware that socialism does not and can not work. The inherent contradictions in socialism do not disappear just because it is being used to acquire something that one finds to be desirable. There may be valid reasons to oppose Obama’s stated intent to block additional orders of the F-22. To based it upon the pretense that it will not destroy jobs, but actually save them, leaves one vulnerable to a very strong attack upon their credibility by informed opposition.
What everyone ignores is, motivations beyond claimed economic issues. Our Prez already spends money like water, faster than it can be printed. So what’s up? Here’s the Awful Truth:
He is a closeted Marxist-Islamist who hates the USA and the American people. He will cancel this and any other military program that gives the US military the edge over adversaries whom he admires and believes should dominate in the world.
He’s a world-class way cool liar holding open emotional alliances with the likes of Castro, Chavez, Ahamedinejad, the Saudi Royals, and Putin’s thugs. He throws contempt upon the world’s democracies, particularly our two closest allies, Britain and Israel.
He gives apologetic speeches world-wide for the success of our military in thwarting the plots and plans of terrorists and totalitarians, and is totally silent about thuggish and butcherous actions by our enemies — ergo his support of the Communists in Honduras, and the Mullahs in Iran, throwing contempt upon the pro-democracy forces.
So why should we be surprised to see him crash down yet another aspects of American success? He deliberately is crashing down the economy, and will do the same with every sector of American life if allowed to go unchecked. It isn’t ignorance. It is a calculated plan, and his administration is stacked with pro-terror, pro-communist, America haters.
Americans, admit it, you were suckered Big Time, by a racist Chicago Muslim Communist thug, a slick talker with a down-town wardrobe, sexy walk, but nobody wanted to know what he believed or wanted. You saw for yourself all the men and women of the Dems drooling over his twisted persona, like he was some new “god”. But he wasn’t even born in the USA so far as anyone can tell, and none of the deeply psychopathological aspects of his character and beliefs were held up to public scrutiny.
He may as well claim he was born on Mars, and produce a Martian Birth Certificate for the “fact-check” websites to post. You’d believe that too, eh, fellow Americans? Missourians have a saying: “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.” I’d say BHO has already fooled quite a lot of people many times over. But common sense has a hard time competing with the Stockholm Syndrome, and so far his cadres have been successful to blame all the problems upon the hapless “Bush”, whose economic stupidity was a mere fraction of what the Obamites are doing deliberately. Most of BHO’s supporters would ride his train all the way down to Hell before admitting there was a problem.
To set the record straight, Obama was not born in Kenya, he was born in Hawaii. One of the requirements for being president is that you must be a citizen by birth.
On the subject of the F-22, I think this article is a little excessive. The F-22 is more than capable of dealing with several aircraft at once, as was demonstrated at Red Flag this year. I am an aviator myself, and flying is my life. One side of me wants to see as many of the Raptors built as possible because it is a spectacle, however the number we currently have in our inventory is more than enough to face any challenger in an air to air conflict.
You should know better than NYT will ALWAYS post articles to circle the wagons for the democrats. So I treat it with a grain of salt
The A-10 is a ground attack aircraft, not a fighter; you are comparing oranges to frogs here. You’d do as well to claim that the Navy doesn’t need new carriers, because frigates are cheaper and do convoy escort better.
As to your assertion that no one has anything to match our current inventory you are completely mistaken. Our next best fighter – the F-15 is what 30 years old? The latest generation of Russian fighters are – if not a match at least a near match, and may well be superior. The Euro Fighter is arguably far better. The Chinese are currently fielding what appears to be a rather nasty little toy as well. In air warfare this is no such thing as second place.
The ground support role is unachievable without air superiority and that means getting into the battle first with the most. Good war is like good sex… get in, get it done, and get out – that is exactly what the F22 is designed to do.
What Obama may or may not realize is the F-22 like the F-35 is a joint strike fighter. It is meant to fill multiple roles. Fighter, bomber, anti-tank, etc. They will replace multiple aircraft including the A-10, F-16, Harrier, and the F-18 (non-super hornets). So in turn while maintaining air superiority over aircraft like the PAK FA a reported Russian Stealth Fighter, the maintanace would not be as much as originally thought. Think replacing 4 aircraft with 2.
Well said, and to the point. What else does America need to know about this fraud ? Lets IMPEACH THE TRAITOR !
