On Friday, the George Soros-funded smear site Media Matters for America (MMA), which purports to monitor media content that “forwards a conservative agenda,” demanded an apology from columnist and CBS golf analyst David Feherty, who had asserted that “if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Osama bin Laden, there’s a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death.”

“Mr. Feherty’s violent comments about Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid are disgusting,” said Media Matters president Eric Burns. “Suggesting that our troops would attack the leaders of the very democracy they’ve sworn to sacrifice their lives for is an insult to their integrity, honor, and professionalism. CBS Sports should demand its golf analyst apologize to our soldiers.”

On the face of it, Mr. Burns is right. Feherty’s comments were in very poor taste. Notably, however, MMA and Burns do not seem to be repelled at all by the recent remarks of radical lesbian comedienne Wanda Sykes, who, at the White House Correspondents Dinner on Sunday night, not only likened conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh to the mass murderer Osama bin Laden and the 9/11 hijackers, but also expressed her wish that Limbaugh might die of kidney failure.

When Sykes delivered her “comedy” routine, she was standing just a few feet away from our leftist President Barack Obama, who laughed heartily as Sykes’ inanities. When Sykes suggested, at one point, that Limbaugh “needs a good waterboarding,” the President could be seen guffawing between sips of water (click here to see the video).

For his part, David Feherty has apologized for his insensitive remarks. Wanda Sykes has not. And MMA? They’ve given Sykes a pass for her “humorous” comments about a conservative. After all, they were funny, weren’t they?
